This is one of the contents of the joint statement of US President Joe Biden, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba after meeting on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Peru on November 15.
“We strongly condemn the DPRK and Russia’s violations of multiple UN Security Council resolutions, especially Pyongyang’s decision to send troops to Russia to fight against Ukraine,” the statement said. The US, South Korea and Japan strongly condemned the decision by the leaders of the two countries, North Korea and Russia, to dangerously expand Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
The statement also noted: “The increased military cooperation between North Korea and Russia, including the transfer of ammunition and ballistic missiles, is particularly serious given Russia’s status as a permanent member of the UN Security Council.”
In addition, Washington, Seoul and Tokyo pledged to continue helping Ukraine defend itself against Russia's assertive actions.
The US, South Korea and Japan also pledged to increase trilateral aid to Ukraine for reconstruction and recovery.
