DTO - Mr. Ho Van Dung (born in 1973), residing in Phu Binh hamlet, Phu Long commune, Chau Thanh district, Dong Thap province, suffered a very severe rupture of a blood vessel and is being treated at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City .
Currently, to treat the disease, Mr. Ho Van Dung's family has to spend more than 10 million VND every day to prolong his life.
According to the family of Mr. Ho Van Hung (Mr. Dung's younger brother), from the beginning of February 2025, Mr. Dung had symptoms of numbness in his legs for many days but only at a mild level. However, on February 4, Mr. Dung became seriously ill and had to be transferred to SIS Can Tho International General Hospital. The doctors there diagnosed that his condition had worsened and he had to be transferred immediately to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. When they arrived, the doctors diagnosed that Mr. Dung had a ruptured blood vessel.
On February 5, doctors at Cho Ray Hospital performed an artificial blood vessel transplant on Mr. Dung, but only saved his right leg. His family paid 70 million VND for the surgery. After the surgery, Mr. Dung had to undergo dialysis every day, costing 10 million VND/day. Currently, Mr. Dung is still in a coma and on continuous dialysis.
Ho Van Dung's family's situation is just enough to make ends meet. Every day, Mr. Dung works in a kiln, and is the main breadwinner in the family. His wife is a housewife. Mr. Dung and his wife have two children, a daughter in 8th grade and a son in 4th grade. Mr. Dung also supports his 80-year-old mother, who is also seriously ill and is currently in the hospital.
Falling into extremely difficult circumstances, Mr. Ho Van Dung's family is mentally and financially exhausted and is hoping to receive help from benefactors to cover treatment costs and prolong life.
