The construction unit measured and replaced damaged ironwood bars.

On the afternoon of February 11, a representative of the Thuan Hoa District Green Park Center, the unit managing the ironwood pedestrian bridge, said that on February 11, the unit mobilized human resources to carry out construction and replace nearly 60 damaged ironwood bars; of which the longest bar was over 2.5m, 15cm wide, and 5cm thick. This was the amount of wood that had been reserved for replacement in advance to create uniformity for the bridge.

According to the reporter, on the afternoon of February 11, about 5 workers and the technical department of the construction unit were urgently handling wooden bars to replace the damaged ironwood bars. The repair work is expected to be completed on February 12. This is the largest replacement of ironwood bars since the wooden bridge was put into operation in 2018.

The rotten and damaged ironwood bars due to long-term water immersion during floods were replaced.

It is known that the ironwood pedestrian bridge is part of a project funded by KOICA (Korea) with a total cost of more than 64 billion VND, including items such as a pedestrian bridge, ironwood flooring, a boat dock, and an outdoor performance stage. In particular, the pedestrian bridge item is 380m long, 4m wide, with a floor covered with 16,000 ironwood planks from South Africa, 5cm thick, with a total area of more than 2,400m2. The ironwood pedestrian bridge is a sightseeing and walking spot that attracts many locals and tourists, but due to the effects of weather and prolonged rain and floods, the wooden planks are rotten and damaged.
