After his fight with Jake Paul in November 2024, Mike Tyson received a sum of $20 million. The boxer spent $13 million (about 326 billion VND) to buy a villa in Florida. Initially, the house was listed for sale for nearly $17 million when it was still under construction.
The 58-year-old boxing legend's new 1,100-square-foot mansion has six bedrooms and 11 bathrooms and is due to be completed by the end of 2024. Tyson and his wife, Lakiha, closed on the transaction on January 9, 2025.
The villa is equipped with a series of high-end amenities such as a 24-meter swimming pool, spa, 0.4-hectare private fishing lake, separate guest house, cinema, gym, wine cellar and specially designed 4-car garage. In addition, the villa also has a renovated horse stable with air conditioning system and storm windows.
The Tierra del Ray Estates community where Tyson bought the mansion is known as the "Land of Kings," with 78 separate parcels. Each lot has a minimum size of 2.5 acres, and most lots are 5 acres or larger.
Tyson and his wife also purchased a 2-acre plot of land in a nearby private aviation park, just 10 minutes away from the mansion. The plot includes a small house connected to a hangar and even a runway. The purchase of the land makes it easy for Tyson and his family to travel by private plane.
However, it is unclear whether he intends to move into the new mansion, as Tyson previously lived in a 6-bedroom, 6-bathroom mansion in Henderson, Nevada, which he purchased for $2.5 million in 2015.
Tyson also previously owned a 1,810-square-foot property in Southington, Ohio, on 23.5 hectares of land, but had to sell it in the late 1990s due to financial and legal problems.
Mike Tyson is one of the greatest heavyweights in the history of boxing. Tyson's record is 50 wins and 6 losses, including 44 knockouts. The American won his first 19 professional fights by knockout, including 12 in the first round.
“Iron Mike” also holds the record as the youngest boxer ever to win a world heavyweight championship at just 20 years, 4 months and 22 days old, famously knocking out Trevor Berbick to win the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight championship on November 22, 1986.
Mike Tyson lost to Jake Paul in their November 2024 fight with a total score of 74-78. Jake Paul threw more than 200 punches in the fight.
According to media estimates, Jake Paul will receive $40 million in prize money, while “Iron Mike” will receive more than $20 million for appearing in this fight. Most Valuable Promotions announced that the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul match has surpassed $17.8 million in ticket sales, becoming the highest-grossing combat sports event in Texas history.
