(Fatherland) - Fansipan Peak (Sa Pa) is expected to receive snow this weekend. Many tourists, especially photographers and snow lovers, are eagerly planning to conquer the peak to hunt for beautiful moments in the white snow.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from February 7, a strong cold air mass will move into the North, causing severe cold in this region. In particular, the high mountainous areas of the North, including Fansipan, may experience snow and ice.
As the highest mountain in Indochina, Fansipan peak, with an altitude of over 3,000m, is often the first place in Vietnam to receive snow. This year, Fansipan welcomed its first snowfall on January 27-28, coinciding with the Lunar New Year holiday. The snow-covered scenery of Hoang Lien Son mountain range made many spring tourists on the peak admire with delight.
Somewhat different from Europe, which is famous for its ski resorts and snow-covered villages, the snow at Fansipan has a unique beauty, bearing the mark of Vietnamese culture. Snow covers the Great Amitabha Buddha Statue and settles on the Fansipan spiritual complex, creating a magical, dreamy scene like a fairyland.
Tourists not only get to admire the beauty of nature, but also have the opportunity to participate in rare recreational activities, such as snow throwing or making snowmen, exciting winter games in a tropical monsoon country like Vietnam.
In contrast to the bustling atmosphere outside, the ancient temples at Fansipan exude a peaceful, cozy and sacred atmosphere.
Travel bloggers and photographers rushed to Fansipan after hearing about the snowfall on January 27.
Due to the high humidity in the air, snow in Vietnam can only last for a short period of time, usually only lasting a few days during extremely cold spells. It is a romantic, mysterious and elusive beauty, reserved only for lucky and well-prepared tourists.
One of the interesting things about Fansipan is the distinct difference in weather between the top and the bottom of the mountain. At the top, the temperature can drop below 0°C and snow can fall, while at the bottom of the mountain, the air is warmer with temperatures around 7 - 10°C, creating ideal conditions for visitors to explore the Northwestern villages.
This weekend, on February 8-9, at Ban May in the Sun World Fansipan tourist area, the Gau Tao festival of the Mong people will take place. This is a festival imbued with traditional culture, with rituals of worshiping heaven and earth and praying to the gods for health, prosperity, and a bountiful harvest. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the Mo worshiping ceremony, the typical pole-raising ceremony, and unique customs such as wife-catching of the Mong people in Sa Pa. In addition, they can also enjoy delicious specialties, listen to the Khen dance and love songs, immerse themselves in the joyful atmosphere with folk games such as playing Yen, throwing Pao or gathering around the campfire.
With the opportunity to conquer the roof of Indochina in the white snow season, immerse yourself in the spring atmosphere at the sacred peak and participate in the bustling Northwest ethnic festival, Fansipan is definitely the most interesting destination in the North this weekend and throughout the spring travel season that has just begun.
