On the morning of March 30, many mobile users reported problems using Wintel's services. Accordingly, users were unable to access the Internet using data services, access apps, or look up account information.
Sharing with VietNamNet , Ms. Ha Van (Hoang Mai, Hanoi) said: " Since early this morning, I have not been able to use 4G of Wintel SIM to access the internet. Meanwhile, SIMs of other networks can still be used normally ."
Minh Pham, another Wintel user in Ho Chi Minh City, also encountered a similar problem. According to this user, not only the data service but also the Wintel application is having problems.
" When I saw that I couldn't access the internet using 4G, I tried to go to the Wintel app to check if the package had expired, but I still couldn't access it. When I looked it up using the syntax *101#, the result also reported "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"" .
On Wintel's fanpage, the network operator also officially spoke out about the incident. Accordingly, Wintel said it was performing system maintenance and upgrades. This led to Wintel customers experiencing temporary interruptions in some services.
" Wintel is working to complete the upgrade as quickly as possible. Wintel sincerely apologizes and hopes for your understanding ," the announcement said.
Speaking to VietNamNet , a representative of Wintel also confirmed the interruption of some services due to a system upgrade on the morning of March 30. The unit affirmed that it had handled the issue quickly so as not to affect customers. By 10:30 a.m. on March 30, Wintel's services were back to normal.
Wintel (prefix 055) is a virtual mobile network of Mobicast Joint Stock Company, a member of Masan Group. This network has been operating in the Vietnamese market since 2020 and uses VNPT's infrastructure to provide services.
The predecessor of Wintel mobile network is Reddi. This is the second virtual mobile network operating in the Vietnamese market. After The Sherpa - a member company of Masan Group announced to invest 295.5 billion VND to buy 70% of Mobicast shares in 2021, in November 2022, Reddi officially changed its name to Wintel.
