The search team has implemented many technical solutions to be able to communicate, thereby determining the location and successfully rescuing the two pilots missing after the Yak-130 plane crash in Binh Dinh.
As reported by VietNamNet, on the morning of November 6, a Yak-130 training aircraft (serial number 210D) of Air Force Regiment 940, Air Force Officer School, Air Defense - Air Force Service had an accident in Binh Dinh province.
The plane was piloted by Colonel Nguyen Van Son, Regiment Commander (front cockpit) and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, Flight Director (rear cockpit). The two pilots parachuted at 10:51 am when the plane crashed.
According to newly updated information, the search and rescue team has successfully found and rescued Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan and determined the location of Colonel Nguyen Van Son using mobile phone positioning.
Sharing with VietNamNet, Viettel network said that after receiving information from the Chairman of Binh Dinh province, the network checked the subscription history of the two pilots and discovered the area where the pilots were suspected of parachuting. This is an area with mountainous terrain, making it difficult to determine the location of the serving broadcasting station.
“ From the area where the pilot is suspected of parachuting, the network operator has identified the broadcasting stations where the pilot could land. At the same time, technical solutions such as adjusting the direction and angle of the antenna, increasing the maximum transmission power of the service stations, and utilizing low-band broadcasting solutions to prioritize and focus on increasing coverage, ” the network operator representative shared.
At 4:30 p.m. the same day, the search team made the first call to pilot No. 1, from which they determined the coordinates and organized the search. At 7:56 p.m., the rescue team found pilot Nguyen Hong Quan.
After implementing the next solutions for the expanded group of suspected stations, at 18:37, the rescue team was able to make a call and contact pilot No. 2 to send the coordinates to the command center. Currently, the functional forces are moving to the coordinates of pilot Nguyen Van Son.
At 10pm on November 6, the search team found pilot Nguyen Van Son at coordinates more than 1km away from pilot Nguyen Hong Quan. Pilot Nguyen Van Son is currently in stable health condition.
