According to a survey on Booking on August 29, 98% of hotels and motels in Mang Den town, Kon Plong district, were fully booked from August 31 to September 2. Many homestays in the town also reported that there were no more rooms available.

Nắng Homestay Mang Den announced that all rooms were fully booked for the four-day holiday. Guests started booking from the beginning of August. The representative of the accommodation said that the room occupancy rate on weekends is also often 90-100%.

"Guests who book rooms are mainly from neighboring provinces such as Da Nang, Quang Nam, Phu Yen, Quy Nhon, Dak Lak, and drive there themselves," said a representative of Nang Homestay Mang Den.

Mang Den Chai Homestay said that all room types were almost fully booked during the holiday and only double rooms at VND900,000 per night were available on September 2-3. La Casa Homestay also said that there were only a few single rooms left on September 2.

A representative of Golden Boutique Hotel Mang Den said there were no more rooms available from August 31 to September 2. The hotel only had 1-2 single rooms for two guests left on September 2-3. During the holiday, the hotel increased prices by VND400,000-600,000 for all room types. On weekdays, the room rate is about VND2.2 million, on weekends it is VND2.4 million, and on holidays it is VND2.8 million.

Mr. Bui Viet Ha, Chairman of Mang Den Tourism Association, said that accommodation facilities in Mang Den town currently have 1,200 rooms. During holidays and weekends since the beginning of the year, room occupancy in Mang Den has always reached 90-100%. During low season such as weekdays, occupancy reaches 60-70%. Compared to the same period last year, the room booking rate in Mang Den has not fluctuated, but the number of rooms has increased by 30%.

During the upcoming September 2nd holiday, accommodation facilities in the town will peak on August 29th - September 1st. Currently, most hotels, motels, and homestays have already booked rooms. Rooms will start to become vacant after September 2nd.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Long, Director of Ngoc Linh Tourism Company in Mang Den, said that the tourism situation in Mang Den during the September 2 holiday was generally unchanged compared to the summer or the previous April 30 holiday. Tourists staying in the town were mainly independent tourists from neighboring provinces, traveling by personal vehicles.

Package tours to Mang Den departing from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are still as "gloomy" as during the April 30 holiday. Customers who buy package tours to Mang Den are usually corporate customers going on team building trips.

According to Mr. Bui Viet Ha, Mang Den regularly renews art programs and tourism activities to attract visitors to the town. On the upcoming holiday, the town will organize a music night on the evening of August 30-September 1, a gong competition between communes and a culinary competition at Mang Den market.

The main tourism products of Mang Den are community tourism, eco-tourism, and local cultural exploration. In recent years, the town has become more well-known on the tourism map and the locality has actively built tourist support and tourism consulting centers. The factors that attract visitors to Mang Den are the nature, climate, and distinct local culture. The town is known as "miniature Da Lat" with primeval forests, lakes, waterfalls, pine hills, cool, fresh climate, and peaceful space.

The Chairman of Mang Den Tourism Association said that in order for ecotourism in the town to develop sustainably, the government, businesses and people need to join hands to preserve the primeval forest ecosystem here.

"Focusing on training local human resources, preserving forest ecosystems, and limiting the construction of high-rise housing and hotels will help Mang Den tourism develop in the long term," said Mr. Ha.

Mang Den Tourism Association aims to attract about 2 million visitors each year by 2025. According to a survey on Google search engine, the keywords Mang Den and Mang Den tourism have increased by more than 35% in the past 12 months. In 2023, Mang Den town welcomed one million visitors, according to the People's Committee of Kon Plong district, Kon Tum.

According to a survey by Musgo in the last week of August, hotel rooms for the September 2nd holiday at tourist destinations with flights are still vacant. In Nha Trang and Da Nang, room occupancy rates are around 40%. Similar figures were recorded in Phu Quoc and Ha Long. Some destinations with convenient road access such as Phan Thiet and Sa Pa have occupancy rates of over 80% and are filling up close to the holiday.
