Passenger volume reached more than 660,000 people, an increase of about 136% over the same period in 2022. Passenger transport revenue reached more than 360 billion VND, an increase of more than 147%; Of which, Thong Nhat passenger train revenue increased by about 128%, and the segment passenger train revenue increased by about 190%.

Explaining the reason for achieving outstanding results compared to the same period last year, representatives of these two transport units said that the first quarter had a peak transportation period during the Lunar New Year, with a large number of train passengers. The railway has applied a flexible fare policy, building fares into many different stages to spread out the density of passengers traveling on peak days and attract passengers traveling on off-peak days.

In particular, to attract less passengers, the railway has deeply reduced ticket prices depending on the distance, travel date, and seat type. Some seats are discounted 50-65% of the low-season ticket price. In addition, the policy applies to passengers who buy tickets many days in advance and receive a discount of 20% - 40% on ticket prices.
