Highlight Belgium unexpectedly lost 0-1 to Slovakia
Belgium were rated higher than Slovakia and they pressed from the start. Number one striker Romelu Lukaku had two clear chances to score, but he could not beat goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in a one-on-one situation.
Slovakia showed a cunning style of play and in a quick counter-attack, Ivan Schranz scored a lightning-fast goal to open the scoring for Slovakia in the 7th minute. In the following minutes, Belgium played deadlocked and did not create any more chances in the first half.

In the second half, Lukaku scored a goal against Slovakia in the 55th minute but the referee determined that the Belgian number 10 was offside. The AS Roma striker was unlucky in the 88th minute when he scored against Martin Dubravka but VAR technology determined that Lois Openda handled the ball before making the pass.
On Lukaku's unlucky day, Belgium shocked Slovakia with a 0-1 defeat in Group E of Euro 2024. In the previous match in the same group, Romania won an impressive 3-0 victory over Ukraine.
