Previously, in the city-level 9th grade cultural subject excellent student exam for the 2023-2024 school year, class 9A won 12 first prizes, including 6 first prizes in Math, 3 first prizes in English, 2 first prizes in Physics and 1 first prize in Chemistry.
Shine with intelligence and diligence
The four students who passed as valedictorians of class 9A are: Ha Manh Hung - Hung is the only student in Hanoi who passed as valedictorian of the Math major at the Pedagogical School and the Math major at the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted; Nguyen Tuan Anh, valedictorian of the English major at the Pedagogical School; Vu Nguyen Nguyen, valedictorian of the Physics major at the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and Nguyen Hoang Minh Quan, valedictorian of the 10th grade public school in Hanoi with a score of 48.5/50 points. The double valedictorian Ha Manh Hung in the last school year also won the first prize in the Math category in Hanoi; valedictorian Nguyen Tuan Anh won the first prize in the English category in Hanoi and valedictorian Vu Nguyen Nguyen won the second prize in the Physics category in Hanoi.
Sharing about the double valedictorian Ha Manh Hung, Mr. Cao Van Dung - the homeroom teacher of class 9A said that Ha Manh Hung is a student who was born to conquer the heights of Mathematics. "What makes me happiest is that Hung always maintains his form in exams. Because this requires students to not only be fully equipped with knowledge but also have a "steel" spirit, a determined will and a steadfast character. Ha Manh Hung has all of those qualities and what he has achieved is not surprising. He is completely deserving."
In addition to his innate intelligence, Ha Manh Hung's diligence and hard work always make his classmates admire him. A 9A student said that when he was in grade 7 and 8, Hung tried to find solutions to math problems in grade 9 and 10. Ha Manh Hung's ability to self-study helps him always conquer very difficult math problems. Once, in a team study session, Hung had such a beautiful and creative math solution that the team teacher took Hung's solution as the "answer".
In addition to being good at Math, Hung also passed the entrance exam to the 10th grade Physics major at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. Because he studied all subjects well, Ha Manh Hung's average score in class was 9.7. Hung's Literature teacher assessed that he wrote coherently and developed ideas clearly. In Math, he always presented beautifully and confidently. Speaking more about his student, teacher Cao Van Dung said: "Although he studies well, Hung is still childish, lovable, never calculating with anyone, living in harmony, loved and admired by friends"...
Regarding the valedictorian of English at the Pedagogical College, Nguyen Tuan Anh, teacher Cao Van Dung commented that Tuan Anh excelled in Math. He was selected for both Math and English teams, but he chose to compete in English and won the city's first prize last school year (in 8th grade, Tuan Anh won the second prize in the city's English competition). Tuan Anh is intelligent and talented, but he is also extremely hard-working and studies diligently. During peak review times, Tuan Anh studies until 2 or 3 in the morning. He is good at all subjects and has an average score of 9.7 in 9th grade. The students of class 9A were very happy when Tuan Anh became valedictorian, but they were not too surprised by the achievements of this intelligent, gentle and quiet male student.
Vu Nguyen Nguyen, valedictorian of the 10th grade Physics class at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, is considered by teachers to be a good, intelligent, sociable student and is loved by his classmates. In his studies, Nguyen Nguyen is always serious, diligent in studying math problems in class, self-motivated in studying and has the spirit of learning from his friends. Nguyen Nguyen is always a student who presents his lessons scientifically and clearly, so he rarely gets points deducted.
In addition to her passion for Physics, Nguyen Nguyen is also very good at other subjects such as Math and IT. In grade 8, Nguyen Nguyen participated in and won the district-level IT award for excellent grade 9 students and her homeroom teacher also told Nguyen Nguyen that she would definitely pass the Math exam, but she decided to choose Physics instead. And she has achieved many high results in Physics such as the second prize for excellent grade 9 students in Hanoi. In the recent specialized grade 10 exam, she passed the Physics exam of 3 specialized schools, in which she was the valedictorian of the Physics exam at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.
Nguyen Hoang Minh Quan, surpassed more than 100,000 students in the fierce 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi this year to win the title of valedictorian with a score of 48.5/50, in which he scored 9.25 in Literature, 10 in Math and 10 in English. Previously, Quan was admitted to the English specialized class of the Foreign Language Specialized High School, and the IT specialized class of the Pedagogical and Natural Science Specialized High School. In both 8th and 9th grade, Minh Quan won second prize in the city-level IT competition for excellent students.
Like the other valedictorians in class 9A, Minh Quan is an extremely hard-working and modest boy. No matter how difficult the lesson is, he tries his best to solve it. He studies well in all subjects, but his classmates were quite surprised and happy when Minh Quan excelled in Literature with a score of 9.25. This clearly shows his comprehensive learning.
The "ideal" classroom full of love
To have a 9A with such outstanding achievements, according to the parents' assessment, it is because the 9A students were lucky to have an "ideal" class and a homeroom teacher, Cao Van Dung, who is extremely dedicated and always treats students as "children". He has inspired and transmitted passion for learning to the students.
A parent of 9A shared that she was deeply moved by Mr. Cao Van Dung's dedication and love for his students, especially in training his students. He almost forgot himself to teach them. "Many late nights, I still saw him posting good and difficult math problems for my children with words of encouragement. During peak periods of reviewing for the national team exam or reviewing for specialized subjects, he was always close, encouraging, and helping students reduce stress. In each of his lessons, the children always felt happy. The teacher and students were close, so the students were more inspired to learn difficult math problems," said a parent of 9A.
When we interviewed Mr. Cao Van Dung about 9A, he always kept in mind that his role as homeroom teacher for the past two years was simply to equip the students with the necessary qualities to become future talents: seriousness, curiosity, diligence and enthusiasm. And indeed, 9A did not let down the teachers and parents, those wonderful qualities of the students were maximized and shone proudly in his teaching career at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. The brilliant results of 9A demonstrated the students' intelligence on the journey to conquer the heights of knowledge.
“We have experienced together happy, innocent moments and many student memories with 9A. I truly appreciate and am grateful for everyone's support, but I must also admit that that love is sometimes a pressure, an invisible pressure that makes us teachers and students tense up like a string. I often joke with my students: "The hardest thing is not the difficult math problems, but how to make famous people take the exam with the mentality of ordinary people."
My most profound memories are probably the times when teachers and students sat together, encouraging each other to overcome the pressure before each exam. When my students received their results, they told me very simply: "Teacher, I thank you, and I also thank you for the pressure". I am truly proud, not only because of the achievements, but also because a whole generation of talented students have truly matured, both in ability and will", Mr. Cao Van Dung said emotionally.
