Series of Vietnamese hotels and resorts among the best in Asia in 2024

Travel + Leisure magazine announced the list of the best city hotels and resorts in Asia in 2024, including 2 hotels and 1 resort in Vietnam.

Travelers could spend their entire vacation in Asia — a massive continent spanning more than 17 million square miles, with 48 countries and plenty to explore. There are beaches on remote islands, cozy little restaurants next to Michelin-starred spots, ruins of lost civilizations, and amazing hotels to visit. Asia is a great destination for both the classic and the modern.

In the top 25 best resorts in Asia voted by Travel + Leisure readers, ALMA resort (Cam Ranh) ranked 2nd. This is also the only representative of Vietnam to make the list of top resorts in Asia, with 99.20 points. Topping the list is Oberoi Rajvilas Hotel, Jaipur (India) with 99.79 points.

In the category of 20 best city hotels voted by global readers, there are 2 Vietnamese hotels, Capella Hanoi and Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, tied for 19th place with 96.60 points.

Located on Ngo Quyen Street (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi), Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is a 5-star hotel that has existed in the capital for hundreds of years. The hotel was completed in 1901, with 364 rooms decorated in an ancient French architectural style mixed with unique oriental motifs.

Meanwhile, Capella Hanoi was listed in the World's 500 Best Hotels by Travel + Leisure earlier this year. Launched in 2021, the hotel has 47 rooms of all types with full amenities, with an impressive combination of classic and modern architecture.

Every year, in its World's Best Awards survey, Travel + Leisure asks readers to rate travel experiences around the globe, sharing their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more.

More than 186,000 readers completed the 2024 survey with more than 700,000 votes cast across more than 8,700 accommodations (hotels, cities, cruise lines, etc.). Hotels were classified as resort hotels, city hotels, hostels, or safari lodges based on location and amenities, specifically rated according to the criteria: Rooms/Amenities, Location, Service, Food, Value.

For each characteristic, respondents can choose to rate it as excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor. The final score is the average of these ratings.
