Fourteen people have died and five remain missing after a landslide in China's southwestern Sichuan province.
The landslide “occurred on a high mountain” at 6 a.m. on June 4 at a forestry station in Jinkouhe county, near Leshan city, Sichuan province, local authorities said.

"By 3:30 p.m., the bodies of 14 victims had been found, while five people were still missing," the government said in a statement.
Authorities have dispatched more than 180 people and dozens of pieces of rescue equipment to the site of the landslide, located in a mountainous area about 240 kilometers (150 miles) from the provincial capital Chengdu. The remote and heavily forested area is prone to natural disasters, including landslides and earthquakes.
Weather monitoring data shows that the city of Leshan had been hit by heavy rain for two days before the incident.
In 2017, a massive landslide in Mao County, Sichuan Province, killed more than 120 people. It was believed to be the largest landslide in the area since the 2008 Wenchuan County earthquake that killed 87,000 people.
