“I have transferred combat data collected by our reconnaissance troops on the location of a large number of Ukrainian troops. As a result, two Iskander missile strikes were carried out on one of the facilities in Kharkov, where the troops of the 82nd Separate Assault Landing Brigade of Ukraine are stationed,” Kadyrov said.

Mr. Kadyrov emphasized that this was a response to the Kiev government’s attempt to attack Grozny (the capital of the Chechen Republic) with three drones. However, two of them were shot down, and one crashed in the area of the headquarters of the Russian National Guard in the Chechen Republic.

Ukrainian soldiers surrender in Kurakhov

Similar situations were observed in other areas. For example, in Volchansk, entire Ukrainian armed units surrendered immediately. Fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also stopped resisting near Kurakhov when they were surrounded.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry said its forces had captured Yelizavetovka in Donetsk province, according to TASS news agency.
The Russian Defense Ministry also said that Russian combat groups caused losses to Ukrainian brigades on the battlefield, of which the Western Combat Group caused the most casualties for Ukraine.
Russian troops fired thermobaric artillery, killing Ukrainian infantrymen
The Russian Defense Ministry released a combat report, saying that the Russian encirclement around Pokrovsk is getting tighter. The Russian Southern Group of Forces has bypassed the western part of Pokrovsk and is beginning to close the encirclement. Russian special forces have entered the streets of the southern Pokrovsk region and are engaged in fierce fighting with the Ukrainian army.

In the Donetsk direction, thanks to decisive actions, units from the Russian Yug Group of Forces took control of Elizavetovka (self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic - DPR).
They inflicted losses on formations of 2 mechanized brigades, 1 airborne brigade, 1 airborne assault brigade of Ukraine and 2 territorial defense brigades near Seversk, Belogorovka, Trudovoye, Ostrovskoye, Kurakhovo and Dachnoye (DPR).
Ukrainian losses in the upper direction were: 345 troops, 5 vehicles, 2 MaxxPro armored fighting vehicles, 1 US-made 155 mm Paladin self-propelled artillery system, 1 152 mm D-20 gun and 1 122 mm D-30 howitzer.
Ukrainian UAVs raid Russian ammunition depot at night
According to Defense Express, on December 16, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) released a video recording the country's military using UAVs to raid a large Russian ammunition depot in the Donetsk region.
"During a night raid, UAV units successfully destroyed an important enemy ammunition depot near the village of Markyne. Russia uses this depot to store a large number of missiles, tank shells, artillery shells and other types of ammunition," the SSU said.
