On the morning of February 18, TUV, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen chaired a meeting to listen to the Dak R'lap District People's Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade and related units report on the handling of difficulties and problems in the operation of Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV.
After nearly 3 months of implementing the directives, relevant agencies and units have promptly removed and resolved difficulties and problems related to the production activities of Nhan Co Alumina Factory.
Up to now, the factory has produced about 100,000 tons of converted alumina, reaching about 15% of the design capacity .
For the No. 2 washing pond, the site has been handed over compared to before, with only 7/22 households remaining. The relevant units are implementing well the construction of the project items that are decisive to the production activities of Nhan Co Alumina Plant such as: No. 2 washing pond, Compartment No. 3 of the red mud pond.
Currently, the remaining area for the factory's operations is about 1.5 hectares. The raw material source stored in the warehouse is about 48,000 tons of raw ore, along with about 16,000 tons of refined ore. With the above raw material source, it is expected to ensure the factory operates until March 2, 2025.
Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Ba Ut informed that the key difficulties and problems currently are related to the application of intercropping density in compensation and site clearance.
Therefore, people have made many complaints and petitions, greatly affecting the handover of land as well as the approval of compensation plans in land acquisition.
Chairman of Dak R'lap District People's Committee Nguyen Quang Tu said: "If this issue is not promptly considered and resolved, it will be very difficult to compensate and clear the land for quarries, as well as greatly affect public investment."
The remaining difficulties are issues that need to be focused on, and leaders must direct strongly to accelerate the progress of investment in the construction of resettlement areas. Thereby, meeting the need to repay resettlement debts as well as arranging resettlement for people in the land acquisition for mining sites in the following years.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen emphasized that in the coming time, sectors and localities need to focus from the beginning on implementing resettlement areas to meet the requirements of the 2024 Land Law.
In particular, sectors and localities need to be flexible in their working methods. Any tasks that are clear should be implemented immediately. Any tasks that are within the authority of the company and the people should be implemented early.
Dak R'lap district continues to coordinate with the company, focusing on approving mineral protection plans. At the same time, it strengthens communication and explanation work so that people can clearly understand the policies and agree with the project.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized that units must avoid taking advantage of policies related to intercropping and overcropping to violate regulations.
