The 191st death anniversary of General Le Van Duyet was held in royal style.

On the morning of September 14, at the Le Van Duyet Mausoleum Historical and Cultural Relic, the Organizing Committee for the Celebration of Major Holidays in Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held the 191st death anniversary of General Le Van Duyet.

Attending the memorial service of General Le Van Duyet were Mr. Phan Van Mai - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - former Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Ms. Tran Kim Yen - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Nguyen Thi Le - Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Huu Hiep - Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee (Ho Chi Minh City) along with many leaders of departments and representatives of the People's Committee of Binh Thanh District (Ho Chi Minh City).

This year's death anniversary takes place over 3 days, from September 14 to 16 (July 30 and August 1 and 2 of the lunar calendar) at the Le Van Duyet Tomb Historical and Cultural Relic (also known as Ong Ba Chieu Tomb, located at 146 Le Van Duyet Street, Ward 1, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City). This is also the location of the temple and tomb of General Le Van Duyet.

The death anniversary ceremonies are held in the royal style for the founding fathers. The offerings include tea, wine, betel and areca nuts, ancient Gia Dinh cakes and fruits from the southern river region. The fruits will be arranged in the shape of dragons, horses and phoenixes, along with dishes bearing the mark of the South.

During the memorial service of Ta Quan Le Van Duyet, there are also activities of singing Ky Yen to pray for favorable weather, national peace and people's peace, and to commemorate the ancestors and heroic martyrs who contributed their merits and blood to the cause of building and protecting a peaceful and happy country.

On September 14, in addition to activities such as offering betel and wine and giving gifts, there are also rituals to worship Tien Thuong, incense offering, Xay Chau - Dai Boi ceremony and Le Cong Ky An opera (performed by Ho Chi Minh City Hat Boi Art Theater).

Next, on September 15, the activities of the main death anniversary will take place, including: offering the main death anniversary according to the ritual of the Nguyen Dynasty's small royal court, offering sacrifices to the ancestors - descendants - heroes and martyrs, performing the art of singing, the play Chung Vo Diem attends the festival , San Hau 3 acts I, II, III. The ceremony to honor the King - return to the court and welcome people to come to pay their respects.

On September 16, there are activities: offering betel and areca nuts, ancient Gia Dinh cakes...

On this occasion, artist Le Sa ​​Long presented the Board of Trustees with a painting of the Left General Le Van Duyet to be hung on his death anniversary for people to come and worship.

General Le Van Duyet (1764 - 1832) is a special historical figure. He was one of the founding fathers of the Nguyen Dynasty and played an important role in the early days of the Nguyen Dynasty. From a eunuch, he followed Lord Nguyen Anh to participate in building forces in Gia Dinh (1790 - 1802), then became the Governor of Gia Dinh citadel twice (1813 - 1816 and 1820 - 1832), was very prestigious and was loved by the people. When he died, King Minh Mang posthumously conferred the title of Thai Bao and the tomb of General Le Van Duyet was built according to the form of the tomb for the most meritorious mandarins at that time in the South.
