High-ranking leaders of our Party received and held talks with the high-ranking delegation of the Angolan People's Liberation Movement Party.

On the afternoon of August 21, in Hanoi, Comrade Luong Cuong, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat, received a high-ranking delegation of the ruling People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), led by Comrade Manuel Domingos Augusto, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee in charge of foreign affairs.

At the meeting, Comrade Luong Cuong welcomed the MPLA Party delegation to visit and work in Vietnam; sincerely thanked the MPLA Party and Angolan State leaders for sending letters of condolence on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and congratulated President To Lam on being elected by the Party Central Committee to the position of General Secretary. Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the cooperative, friendly and traditional relations with the MPLA Party, the State and the people of Angola. He shared about Vietnam's outstanding achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi; preparations for the 14th National Congress of the Party and Vietnam's development goals until the mid-21st century.

The Standing Member of the Secretariat highly appreciated the friendship and cooperation between the two Parties; emphasizing that the visit of the MPLA Party's high-ranking delegation was an opportunity for the leaders of the two Parties to exchange opinions, assess the international situation, bilateral relations and focus on cooperation in the coming time, contributing to consolidating and further tightening the good traditional friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries. He affirmed that Vietnam and Angola have much room to develop cooperation and suggested that the two Parties focus on effectively implementing the agreements signed between the two countries. MPLA Party Politburo member Manuel Domingos Augusto expressed his joy and honor to visit the heroic country of Vietnam - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh; highly appreciated when witnessing with my own eyes the solidarity of the Vietnamese people, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which has created great achievements of historical significance after nearly 40 years of Renovation in economic development, poverty reduction, improving people's lives, being an active and responsible member of the international community, actively contributing to peace and stability in the region and the world, including the East Sea region.

Angolan leaders sincerely thanked Vietnam for its wholehearted support for African countries, including Angola, especially in the struggle for national independence. Comrade Manuel Domingos Augusto highly appreciated the results of cooperation between the two Parties in recent times; affirmed the desire to strengthen solidarity, learn from Vietnam's experience in national development, ensure social justice, enhance the role and position in the international arena; suggested that the two Parties make efforts to consolidate the good traditional relationship and promote substantive and extensive cooperation, especially in the fields of economics, trade, investment, agriculture, education, etc.

On the same morning, in Hanoi, comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission, led the Party delegation to hold talks with the high-ranking delegation of the MPLA Party. The two sides agreed to further tighten the relationship between the two Parties, creating a solid political foundation to promote multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. The leaders of the two Parties agreed to promote theoretical exchanges, share experiences and practices in national leadership; strengthen cooperation in training and fostering officials; facilitate trade and investment activities; encourage cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, especially exchanges between the younger generation and women; closely coordinate at international forums and multilateral mechanisms for the benefit of each Party and each country, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the world.

On this occasion, comrade Le Hoai Trung and comrade Manuel Domingos Augusto signed the Cooperation Agreement between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the MPLA Party for the period 2024 - 2029, creating a legal basis to deepen the solidarity, friendship, cooperation and tradition between the two Parties, contributing to bringing the relationship between the two countries into substance and effectiveness, for the benefit of the people of Vietnam and Angola.

Angola is a large country, with an area of over 1.2 million km2, has an important position in West Africa, plays an active role in regional and international organizations and is the tenth largest economy in Africa with great potential in the mining and oil industries.
