Upon hearing the news of the passing of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, leaders of many countries sent telegrams, letters, and messages of condolences.

The contents of the telegrams/letters/messages are as follows:

(1) Sultan of Brunei Darussalam expressed that he always kept the image of the General Secretary as a warm and steadfast friend and the beautiful memories of the exchanges with the General Secretary, especially the meeting on the occasion of the two countries upgrading their relations to Comprehensive Partnership during the King's visit to Vietnam in 2019; affirmed that the important contributions of the late General Secretary in strengthening the relationship between the two countries as well as his strong and persistent dedication to the cause of socio-economic development of Vietnam are a lasting legacy.

(2) President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong expressed admiration for the important contributions over many decades to the Party and the nation, especially the 13 years in the position of General Secretary, which have significantly contributed to Vietnam's strong economic growth, helping to improve people's lives; assessed that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's absolute priority for Party building and his dedication to anti-corruption not only created his leadership style, but also provided important directions for the reform and consolidation of the Party and State of Vietnam.

Singaporean leaders all affirmed that the General Secretary is a close friend of Singapore, has made many important contributions, creating the premise for establishing the Strategic Partnership between the two countries in 2013, and continuing to develop bilateral relations in depth and substance, towards upgrading the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the near future.

(3) In electricity, King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand praising the prestige of the General Secretary, the Leader who has won the trust of the Vietnamese people and the respect of the international community; as well as the role of the General Secretary in the cause of national construction, innovation, development and stability.

(4) Letter from the Prime Minister, Chairman of the ruling Mongolian People's Party Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene There is a passage that says:

“The Mongolian People's Party always remembers the contributions and dedication of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in developing relations and strengthening friendship and comradeship between the people of Vietnam and Mongolia and between the two Parties."

(5) In the message content, King Charles III of England He hoped that the Vietnamese people would remain strong and steadfast in difficult times. The King recalled his impressions and memories of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during his visit to the UK in 2013; expressed his appreciation for the General Secretary’s contributions to the Vietnamese people as well as his leadership role in promoting Vietnam’s close relations with other countries through bamboo diplomacy.

(6) President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro affirmed that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a great friend of Venezuela; a tireless fighter for the nation, a torch of wisdom for the great changes of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. President Nicolas Maduro expressed solidarity with the Vietnamese people and affirmed that the people of the two countries will always be united, always cooperate and be brothers.

Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello sent condolences to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people.

(7) King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent condolences to President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam.

(8) President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko sent a message of condolence to President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam. Chairman of the House of Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko sent a message of condolence to the leaders of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and all the people of Vietnam. Chairman of the Belarusian “Belgian” Party Oleg Romanov sent a letter of condolence to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

(9) Chairman of the Islamic Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf sent a letter of condolences to Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man.

(10) President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a letter of condolences to President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam.

(11) ASEAN Secretary- General Kao Kim Hourn sent a letter of condolences to Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh.

(12) President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Chairman of the ruling Tanzania Revolutionary Party Samia Suhulu Hassan , President of the Republic of Burundi Evariste Ndayishimiye , President of the Indian National Congress Mallikarjun Kharge , National Secretary of the French Communist Party Fabien Roussel sent condolences.

(13) Chairman of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev sent a letter of condolences to President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam. Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Genadi Zyuganov sent a letter of condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam. Chairman of the Socialist Political Party “Just Russia - Patriots - For Truth” Sergey Mironov sent a letter of condolences to the Standing Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Luong Cuong.

(14) General Secretary of the Communist Party of India Doraisamy Raja sent a letter of condolence to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) sent a letter of condolence to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. India Forward Bloc Party General Secretary D. Devarajan sent a letter of condolences to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

(15) Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Japan Shii Kazuo wrote an article to send deep condolences to the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people and the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

(16) Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Spanish Communist Party Manu Pineda sent a letter of condolences to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Spanish Communist Party of Nationalities Victor Lucas sent a letter of condolences to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

(17) General Secretary of the Communist Party of Ireland James Corcoran sent condolences to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

(18) South African Communist Party issued a statement of condolences on the passing of the General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

(19) Central Executive Committee Brazilian Communist Party sent condolences to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

(20) President of the State of Palestine, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Mahmoud Abbas sent a letter of condolences to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

(21) General Secretary of the Swiss Communist Party Massimiliano Ay sent a letter of condolences to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the People of Vietnam.
