In the past few days, there has been information that China has temporarily stopped importing some types of fruit from Vietnam, and as a result, the authorities at the border gates of Lang Son province have also temporarily stopped customs clearance procedures for fruit. However, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone responded that the above information is incorrect.

Currently, the border gates in Lang Son province are still operating normally, there is no congestion of goods; the authorities at the border gates of Lang Son province are still carrying out procedures for exporting goods normally and always creating favorable conditions for exporting goods, especially creating maximum favorable conditions for fresh Vietnamese fruits to be exported through the area.

Customs clearance through Lang Son border gates is taking place normally.

On the side of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Association, said that currently no business has reported that China has stopped importing durian and other fruits.

Previously, regarding the information that hundreds of containers of bananas, jackfruit, durian, dragon fruit... preparing to be exported to China suddenly received an official dispatch from the Plant Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) requesting a temporary suspension of exports, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Plant Protection Department said that this is a regular activity and has been carried out for many years with many markets, not just the Chinese market.

For the Chinese market, this is the fourth announcement on suspension, withdrawal, and correction of non-compliance measures against Chinese plant quarantine regulations.

According to Ms. Huong, after receiving a notice of non-compliance with plant quarantine regulations from China, the Department will notify the locality of which code is in violation, what the violation is, and request a certain time to send the correction documents to the Department so that the Department can send them to the Chinese Customs, on that basis they will consider restoring these codes. This is for the first violation.

For packaging facilities and growing area codes that repeatedly violate the regulations, the application will still be suspended, the cause will be determined, corrected, and the application will be resubmitted. Or the locality will be required to revoke the growing area code and packaging facility.

However, the notification of correction, recall or suspension is also based on the principle: Not affecting trade, not affecting the interests of producers, businesses, and exporters; not equating good units with violating units.

Up to now, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has confirmed that no shipments are stuck at the border gate, however, shipments with codes reported to be in violation will be inspected more closely.

In Lang Son province, there are currently 6 border gates carrying out customs clearance procedures for goods. Of which, Tan Thanh border gate and Huu Nghi International border gate are the two border gates with the most bustling border trade activities. At Tan Thanh border gate, the main cleared goods are fresh fruits, accounting for about 85% of the total export volume. At Huu Nghi International border gate, fresh fruits account for about 70% of the total export volume.

Although no shipments are currently congested, China has issued a warning that some growing area codes in Vietnam need to strictly comply with regulations between the two countries.
