CONVEYING THE BEAUTY OF HOMETOWN

The natural beauty and people of Kien Giang are the inspiration for Truong Phu Quoc's works. As a tour guide and photographer for tourists in Phu Quoc City, Quoc's work is related to photography. In his free time, he devotes his love to photography. He finds new beautiful scenes, beautiful and strange perspectives of his homeland to create impressive works.

Anh Quoc shared: “I was lucky to be born and raised in Phu Quoc City, a place with many natural landscapes, typical ecosystems and unique beauty. Quoc has been passionate about photography since he was a child, but it was not until he was 20 that he was able to buy a camera on installments. At first, he had difficulty learning photography techniques and using photo editing software on his own. After a period of perseverance and effort, Quoc is now one of the young photographers known by many people. Having good photography techniques helps Quoc succeed in his work and earn a high income. His photos are praised by many tourists as beautiful and get many likes on social networks.

Sharing his experience in taking beautiful photos, Mr. Quoc said: “In addition to factors such as light, composition... the work must have content. Each photo must be a story that brings real emotions to the viewer. To have a work rich in emotions, the photographer must be passionate and take photos with all his soul.”

His enthusiasm and passion helped Mr. Quoc achieve many successes with many photography awards such as second prize in the "Country seen from the sea" art photography contest in 2021, two third prizes in the Kien Giang province tourism photo contest in 2022, many photos were selected to be exhibited at the art photography festival in the Mekong Delta region.

SPREAD LOVE FOR COUNTRY

Since childhood, Nguyen Van Hoi had a talent for painting, especially portraiture. When he grew up and became a police officer, he was in charge of crime scene investigation, a part of his job related to photography, so when he had the opportunity to access art photography, he easily felt and was passionate about it.

Mr. Hoi said: “In 2016, I learned about art photography from a group of photographers who came to Hon Dat district to work. From then on, I researched and learned photography techniques from previous photographers, books, newspapers and websites. On my days off, I wandered all over the streets to find beautiful moments. I learned how to perceive context, composition, light, color, especially how to create emotional photos.”

Mr. Hoi's works mainly exploit the perspective of people and nature in Kien Giang. He likes to preserve beautiful moments and everyday emotions of children, the elderly, farmers, workers, especially the activities of the armed forces and the People's Public Security in building and protecting the Fatherland.

“I am inspired by the images of soldiers, police, and people contributing and dedicating themselves to the development of the country. I prioritize preserving these beautiful moments. That is how I spread my love for my homeland and country to everyone,” Hoi shared.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Dinh - Vice President of Kien Giang Literature and Arts Association said: "Major Nguyen Van Hoi and Mr. Truong Phu Quoc are two young photographers with talent in the field of photography. They have many impressive photos of the people and homeland of Kien Giang; many works convey the message of solidarity and the beauty of the land and people of Kien Giang."

Although he has not been a photographer for long, Mr. Hoi has many beautiful and highly appreciated photos on the theme of Kien Giang people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, such as the photo series "Gratitude to heroes and martyrs" and the work "Helping people after the storm". These two works won second prize at the contest for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in 2022. For Mr. Hoi, the joy after each time he clicks the shutter is not necessarily that the work wins a high award, but simply the enjoyment of the audience.
