- The pioneer race of the running movement in Vietnam
- VPBank Hanoi International Marathon 2023: New playground for the running community
Through this campaign, Teaching for Vietnam hopes to call for the attention and support of more than 7,000 runners and raise 2,000,000,000 VND to continue to build a complete education system for more than 4,000 students in 15 public schools here, together with Quang Nam and Dong Thap.
According to the General Statistics Office, 93% of Vietnamese students are studying in public schools. But building a quality and equitable public education system remains a major challenge, as the educational puzzle is fragmented, in terms of teacher resources, regional inequality, and the gap between policy and reality.
Teaching for Vietnam hopes to call for the attention and companionship of more than 7,000 people to participate in the run and raise 2,000,000,000 VND to be able to join Quang Nam and Dong Thap.
That is why, since 2017, the Pioneer Educator Development Program has been initiated by Teach for Vietnam. Teach for Vietnam seeks and develops pioneer educators from various professions, equips them with necessary skills in pedagogy and leadership, and places them in two-year work placements in many public schools in rural areas across the country. During these two years, the pioneer educators not only teach, but also work closely with schools, parents, authorities, communities, etc. to build leadership capacity and come up with solutions appropriate to each locality’s problems.
With the message "Creating steps, connecting the future", Teaching for Vietnam cooperates with partners to organize the race from August to November 2023. In which, August 2023 is an online race and November 2023 is a direct race. For the August 2023 race, participants can register to run online and choose a team. Participants who run for 12 days and reach a minimum of 60km will have the opportunity to receive attractive gifts for individuals and groups with a total gift value of up to 2,000,000,000 VND contributed by sponsors. For the November 2023 race, participants buy tickets with a BIB to participate in the race directly. In parallel with the running activities, the November race also has attractive activities such as displaying media booths, fundraising sales and music. Participants also have the opportunity to receive attractive gifts individually and in groups like the online race.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Trang, Executive Director of Teach for Vietnam shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Trang, Executive Director of Teach for Vietnam, shared: “There are many reasons behind the problem of educational inequality. It is not only a lack of economic resources but also the mindset of parents, and there are also inadequate barriers in the lack of teachers. Teach for Vietnam hopes that there will be a generation of young people who truly understand where the problems in Vietnamese education are. Because if you only read the press or from personal experience, your perspective will be very limited. Therefore, by bringing you to remote areas, you will work directly with the students, and you will see that the change in students will require the cooperation of the school, the community, and many other parties because it takes a whole village to raise a child.”
MC Runner-up Hoang Oanh shared at the meeting.

So I was very surprised when I received an invitation to become the Ambassador of a meaningful program like Run for Education 2023. And from becoming an Ambassador this time, I see positive changes in myself. I run more, have a more sporty spirit. ”
