On the evening of February 26, the Military Service Council (NVQS) of districts and cities (Dong Nai province) organized a military camp to encourage and motivate young people to join the army.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Hai (living in An Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city) graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Dong Nai University of Technology in September 2023. Although there were many job opportunities, he decided to volunteer to join the army.
Mr. Hai said: “I postponed my military service during my 4 years of university, so when I graduated, I had to proactively register to join. Not only does it demonstrate the responsibility and duty of a citizen to the Fatherland, but it is also an opportunity to grow up in an environment full of discipline and strict order.”
Party member Nguyen Thanh Trung, a second-year student at Lilama 2 International Technology College, also wrote an application to reserve his study results to join the army, inheriting the family tradition of his grandfather who participated in the resistance war and is currently a veteran of Lo 25 commune (Thong Nhat district).
Young Party member Le Tan Phuc (Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Hamlet 3, Phu Thanh Commune) was recruited to join the army and shared: “The atmosphere of the military enlistment day was very joyful, bustling and warm with the love between the army and the people. I am very proud to have contributed a small part to the task of protecting the Fatherland. As a young Party member and Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Hamlet, I must set an example so that the youth union members can clearly see their responsibility and obligation to join the army, inherit the tradition, and protect the Fatherland in the new situation.”
This year, Nhon Trach district was chosen as the command center for the military recruitment camp and the military handover ceremony of the province. The district was assigned to select and call 225 citizens to join the army in 4 units of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 7, Dong Nai province; 36 citizens to join the People's Public Security for a limited period.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong, Chairwoman of Nhon Trach District People's Committee, Chairwoman of the District Military Service Council, said that in the recent conference to resolve military service, the heads of Party committees and authorities of communes and towns were determined to complete 100% of the military service target in 2024 and localities paid attention to implementing good military rear policies.
According to the Dong Nai Provincial Military Service Council, in 2024, the province will elect 4,019 young people, select 3,045 young people to issue military service orders (including 2,904 official citizens, 141 reserve citizens); including 56 party members, 674 citizens with intermediate, college, and university degrees, 46 civil servants and 151 children of officials.
Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council Vo Tan Duc said that Dong Nai youth have inherited the tradition of the arduous but heroic Eastern region, of the Southern citadel, and actively volunteered to join the army. The quality of young people joining the army in 2024 is higher in all aspects than in previous years, of which young people with college and university degrees account for a fairly high proportion.
"This shows that the province's youth are clearly aware of their role and responsibility in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; contributing to supplementing resources for building a quality, elite, compact, strong army, ready to protect the Fatherland in all situations," said Mr. Vo Tan Duc.
