(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of April 12, Ho Nam Ward, Le Chan District held a groundbreaking ceremony to repair the "Warm House of Love" for the family of Ms. Nghiem Thi Binh, a member of the Women's Union with difficult circumstances at 42/31/312 To Hieu. This is an activity to celebrate the 69th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2024); in response to the Hai Phong Red Flamboyant Festival in 2024.

Ms. Nghiem Thi Binh lives mainly on the money she earns from washing dishes for hire, and has no other source of income. She lives alone in a seriously degraded 28m2 house. After more than 40 years of use, the house has deteriorated, the tiled roof is leaking and about to collapse, the walls are cracked, rotten, moldy, and when it rains, the house leaks, and she has to sleep in the kitchen next to the toilet. The family's circumstances are too difficult, and they do not have the means to build or repair the house.

Faced with that situation, the Women's Union of Ho Nam Ward closely coordinated with the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front, departments, branches, and organizations of the People's Group No. 2 and the family of Ms. Nghiem Thi Binh to develop a plan, design, and repair the house. The total estimated value of the project is nearly 65 million VND, of which the District Women's Union supported 10 million VND, Ho Nam Ward supported 3 million VND, the Ward Women's Union supported 5 million VND, along with contributions and support from organizations, units, and benefactors.
Supporting the construction of houses for households in difficult circumstances is an activity with profound humanitarian meaning, not only helping families reduce difficulties and stabilize their lives, but also demonstrating the noble gesture, solidarity and affection of all levels, sectors and the whole community.
