Impressive moments of the opening day of the National Press Festival 2024

On March 15, the 2024 National Press Festival officially opened. This is the first time the National Press Festival has been held in Ho Chi Minh City and is also the largest National Press Festival ever, leaving many beautiful impressions in the hearts of journalists and readers in the city named after Uncle Ho.

Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications; Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, along with leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and leaders of Journalists Associations of provinces and cities, leaders of central and local press agencies.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, commented: "The National Press Festival is a great festival for the press and the public nationwide. This is also an activity to celebrate the achievements of innovation and development of the country and Ho Chi Minh City. The 2024 National Press Festival has a new organization method, with many rich and attractive activities, attracting 120 booths displaying outstanding press publications, typical of hundreds of press agencies, and all levels of the Vietnam Journalists Association. The booths show an overview of contemporary Vietnamese journalism in the direction of professionalism - humanity - modernity".

Also at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, gave a speech: "The 2024 National Press Festival is an important preparation step towards the 100th Anniversary of the Vietnamese revolutionary press (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025). This year, 99 years of glorious tradition, is a proud mark of the Vietnamese revolutionary press. We have a revolutionary press with the noblest goal, the most sacred mission is to serve the Fatherland, to serve the People",

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and Chairman of the Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh visited the exhibition booth of The World and Vietnam Newspaper.

The 2024 National Press Festival has a new organization method, with many rich and attractive activities, attracting 120 booths displaying unique and typical press publications of hundreds of central and local press agencies, and all levels of the Vietnam Journalists Association in 63 provinces and cities across the country.

The Press Festival has 1 exhibition area on the history of Vietnamese journalism; 112 special press exhibition booths of newspapers and magazines from popular to specialized, including aspects of the country's political and social life; 8 special exhibition booths of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, Military Press, Public Security Press, Government Electronic Information Portal, National Assembly Office.

The 2024 National Press Festival is chaired by the Vietnam Journalists Association, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. Many activities and forums will take place during the three days of the Press Festival, from March 15 to 17.
