The newly inaugurated mobile broadcasting station is an important project contributing to promoting and developing people's lives in remote and disadvantaged areas.
On February 8, Viettel Yen Bai inaugurated the YBI0580 mobile broadcasting station in Tuc Dan commune, Tram Tau district.
Attending the opening ceremony were Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh, Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper Nguyen Van Ba, leaders of Tram Tau district and representatives of Viettel Yen Bai.
At the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Do Thanh Tuan, Director of Viettel Yen Bai, informed about the process of installing a mobile broadcasting station in Tuc Dan commune.
Accordingly, the YBI0580 mobile broadcasting station was built by Viettel Yen Bai in Pa Khoang village in nearly 3 months with a total cost of 3.5 billion VND. The installation and operation of this broadcasting station will ensure and meet the communication and Internet needs of about 1,200 people in the area.
Lieutenant Colonel Do Thanh Tuan shared that the construction of the station encountered many difficulties due to the terrain of the station's location in a mountainous area. In particular, in Pa Khoang village, there is no national grid system, so Viettel Yen Bai has to use generators to supply electricity to the station.
The operation of the YBI0580 station will provide mobile services and Internet access to about 1,200 people in 3 villages of Tuc Dan commune. At the same time, it will ensure information security and safety, promote digital transformation, help people in the highlands access online public services, contributing to socio-economic development and ensuring local national security and defense.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the support and companionship of Viettel Group and Viettel Yen Bai in the province's digital transformation.
In particular, according to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, the completion and operation of the broadcasting station is a meaningful spring gift, bringing many great benefits that Viettel sends to the people of Tuc Dan commune.
According to Mr. Tuan Anh, the characteristics of Yen Bai province are complex terrain, difficult transportation, and many "troughs" in the province that greatly affect economic development and poverty reduction.
"With the support of Viettel Group, many digital transformation activities of the province have been effectively implemented, creating clear changes in digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy, digital society, gradually improving the material and spiritual life of the people," Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh emphasized.
The Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee requested Viettel Yen Bai to continue to accompany the province in digital transformation, pay attention and allocate resources to invest in eliminating mobile signal depressions, and continue to have policies to provide cheap mobile phones and preferential packages for poor and near-poor households.
At the same time, the leaders of Yen Bai province requested that Tram Tau district and Tuc Dan commune focus on implementing, promoting propaganda and doing well the digital transformation in the locality to help people access and enjoy the best benefits that digital transformation brings.
Inauguration of the project "Lighting up the Highlands"
Within the framework of the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper, presented Tuc Dan commune with a solar lighting project with a total construction cost of nearly 100 million VND.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, Yen Bai is a province that is prioritized to implement the Lighting Up Highlands program with 3 villages and hamlets installed with solar lighting systems; the total distance is nearly 5km and more than 1,000 people benefit.
Specifically, in Tuc Dan commune, the organizing committee installed in Tong Trong and Tong Ngoai villages. In Tong Trong village, 25 solar power pole and bulb systems with a capacity of 300W were installed along the village road. The total lighting length is 1.5km.
Tong Ngoai village includes 25 solar panels with a capacity of 300W. 20 panels are installed on electric poles in the village, 5 panels are installed on steel poles. The length of the line is 1.5km.
After installation and put into use, the solar lighting system has helped 222 households with more than 1,000 people travel more safely at night, reducing traffic accidents and social evils.

Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh acknowledged that the project of Lighting Up the Highlands has contributed to changing the local appearance, especially in extremely difficult areas without national grid electricity such as the two villages of Tong Trong and Tong Ngoai.
