Along the approximately 700 meter length of the street, many houses and shops are still flooded, and evacuated residents have not been able to return.

Taking advantage of the rain break, environmental workers and residents cleaned up to prevent long-term heavy rain.

This morning, taking advantage of the rain to stop, the environmental sanitation workers went out to clean up and collect garbage on all flooded streets and residential areas, especially the garbage that washed up after heavy rain at Nguyen Tat Thanh beach.

Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Hieu - Deputy General Director of Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company said that from 6am this morning, environmental workers from all districts have focused on general cleaning in the assigned areas. The collection and transportation of all mud, garbage, waste soil, and bulky waste arising after the storm on the streets is being carried out urgently to prevent prolonged heavy rains with the spirit that wherever the water recedes, the inlet must be clean and clear.

“Thanks to the proactive response of the authorities and the people, the amount of garbage generated this year is not much, mainly garbage washed up on the sea after heavy rains. In addition, the units have been collecting garbage normally in the past few days in areas that are not flooded. Only for flooded areas, we are temporarily waiting for the water to recede because vehicles and workers have not been able to enter yet.” - Ms. Hieu said.
