Opening of the Exhibition "Heroic Army"

(CPV) - The exhibition "Heroic Army - Strong National Defense" introduces nearly 300 images, documents, and artifacts summarizing the process of building, fighting, and growing of the Vietnam People's Army, and achievements over 35 years of implementing the National Defense Day.

Towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), on December 13, the Vietnam Military History Museum held the opening ceremony of the Exhibition "Heroic Army - Strong National Defense".

Delegates cut the ribbon to open the Exhibition "Heroic Army - Strong National Defense".

The exhibition aims to contribute to educating the cadres, soldiers of the armed forces and the people, especially the young generation, about the revolutionary tradition, the glorious feats of arms of our army and people in the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland. Thereby, arousing national pride, patriotism and revolutionary heroism; striving to build a strong national defense, build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, gradually modernized Vietnam People's Army, meeting the requirements of the task of firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam in the new period.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, said that the exhibition introduces nearly 300 images, documents, and artifacts summarizing the process of building, fighting, and growing of the Vietnam People's Army, and achievements over 35 years of implementing the National Defense Day; including 3 main contents.

Part 1: The revolutionary army was born; Part 2: Determined to fight, determined to win - For national independence; Part 3: Strong national defense - Protecting the Fatherland.

The images, artifacts and documents introduced at the Exhibition are valuable documents, kept at the Vietnam Military History Museum and units throughout the army, displayed for the first time. Typical examples include: 05 Gold Star Medals - awarded by the National Assembly, State and Government to the Vietnam People's Army; Certificates and First Class Military Exploit Medals - awarded by President Ho Chi Minh to the Liberation Army, the Southern Uprising Army and the Bac Son Guerrilla Army in 1948; Flag of the Heroic Unit of the Liberation Armed Forces with 154 medals and badges awarded by the Provisional Government of the Republic of South Vietnam to the 367 Special Forces Group; Diversionary plan - Lieutenant Colonel Khuat Duy Tien, Head of Operations Department, Central Highlands Front drafted and applied in the Central Highlands Campaign, March 1975... with products from a number of factories under the General Department of Defense Industry, Air Defense - Air Force, Navy, Chemical Corps, Communications Corps, Technical Application and Production One Member Co., Ltd.
