On the evening of October 6, in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province, the 2023 Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival with the theme "Returning to the mountains and rivers" officially opened.
This year's festival takes place from October 5 to 9 with unique and meaningful activities.
First is the sacred water procession ceremony, praying for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather and wind. The Organizing Committee conducted the water procession ceremony from the foot of Ban Gioc waterfall to Truc Lam Ban Gioc Buddhist Temple.
Localities in Cao Bang province organize many exhibition booths to introduce products, specialties and cuisine of Cao Bang for visitors to enjoy. The festival also includes a photo exhibition “Beauty of the mountains and rivers”, along with sports activities and folk games. Visitors to the festival can visit and experience the chestnut garden in Ban Khay, Chi Vien commune, Trung Khanh district.
A highlight of this year's festival will take place on the morning of October 7 at Ban Gioc waterfall, where 1,000 artists and extras will perform Then singing and Tinh lute playing with the theme "Origin and identity of Then and Tinh Cao Bang".

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Trinh Truong Huy, Vice Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the Ban Gioc Waterfall Festival is held annually to promote and introduce the beauty of Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, to tourists from near and far.
This year's festival is held in the context of the two countries Vietnam and China having just organized a pilot operation for tourists to travel between the Ban Gioc waterfall landscape area (Vietnam) and Detian (China) from September 15.
With many rich and unique activities, this year's festival is expected to leave deep impressions in the hearts of visitors, thereby continuing to promote and exploit the strengths of Ban Gioc waterfall in attracting tourists and developing local tourism.
