In his opening speech, Party Central Committee member and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that this Conference focused on discussing and giving opinions on the 3rd Draft Report of the 12th Executive Committee submitted to the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; the 4th Draft of the amended and supplemented Charter of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; the review report of the 12th Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; the report on the results of trade union activities in the first 6 months of the year, tasks for the last 6 months of 2023; the summary report on action programs to implement the 3 breakthroughs of the Resolution of the 12th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor...
Regarding the 3rd Draft Report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (12th tenure) submitted to the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union and the 4th Draft of the amended and supplemented Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested that delegates take the time to study and discuss thoroughly, and give specific comments on the documents, especially on issues with different opinions and options; pay attention to the additional and amended contents, especially the issues raised in the submissions; ensure the appropriateness and consistency of the content.
In addition, from practical experience in trade union activities and from localities, agencies and working units, delegates can propose new issues and contents that need to be researched and specified in the content of documents.
Regarding the report on the results of trade union activities in the first 6 months of the year and the tasks for the last 6 months of 2023, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor noted that 2023 is the last year to implement the Resolution of the 12th Congress, so it is necessary to determine that the success of the Resolution of the Congress depends greatly on the results of 2023, thereby setting out fundamental solutions to be determined to successfully implement the targets that have not yet been achieved.
"The content of the agenda of this Executive Committee meeting is important issues directly related to the organization of trade union congresses at all levels and preparation for the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union. This conference will devote more time for delegates to discuss the contents presented at this session. I request that you promote a high sense of responsibility, focus your intelligence, research, discuss and contribute your opinions to the draft documents. The good preparation of the 12th General Confederation of Labor Executive Committee on the above contents will contribute significantly to the success of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union," Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized.
The conference reviewed and supplemented the 2023 planning for Executive Committee members, Inspection Committee members and positions in the Executive Committee and Inspection Committee of the General Confederation of Labor for the 2018-2023 term and the 2023-2028 term (step 2).
