Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurates the Exercise
The opening ceremony was attended by Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh; Admiral R. Hari Kumar, Commander of the Indian Navy; representatives of diplomatic agencies and navies of various countries. Rear Admiral Pham Manh Hung, Deputy Commander, Chief of Naval Staff, Defense Attaché of Vietnam in India and the delegation on Ship 20 (Flotilla 132, Brigade 172, Naval Region 3) representing the Vietnam People's Navy.

With the theme "Friendship - Bonding - Cooperation", the MILAN 2024 Exercise has the participation of navies from 47 countries. The Vietnam People's Navy sent Ship 20 and a working delegation led by Colonel Doan Bao Anh, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 3, to participate in activities within the framework of the exercise.
Speaking at the opening of the MILAN 2024 Exercise, Indian Navy Commander R. Hari Kumar thanked the countries that sent ships and forces to participate and emphasized: The exercise is a good opportunity for the country's navies to learn from experience, strengthen friendship and mutual understanding, and contribute to promoting cooperation in solving maritime-related issues in the world.

The MILAN 2024 exercise is divided into two phases, taking place from February 19 to 27 at locations onshore and in the sea area east of Visakhapatnam city. In the port phase, Vietnam's Ship 20 will participate in the following activities: Professional exchange, sea planning, maritime seminar, young officer exchange, street parade, sports and cultural exchange...

During the sea exercise phase, Ship 20 belonged to Tactical Group 3 and participated in the following activities: Formation movement, communication, rescuing people who fell into the water, docking and inspecting suspicious ships, mobilizing supplies at sea, and taking photos of the formation from the air.

On the same evening, the Maritime Technology Exhibition and the MILAN Cultural Village within the framework of the MILAN 2024 Exercise were also held.
On this occasion, Rear Admiral Pham Manh Hung and the working delegation on Ship 20 paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of the Eastern Fleet, Indian Navy.
