AI is the highlight feature that Apple focuses on for iPhone 16
Also according to Kuo, the upgraded microphone setup is expected to appear on all iPhone 16 models. It will have a better signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), becoming a key specification to significantly improve the Siri experience, alongside improved water resistance.
These changes could indicate that Apple is looking to integrate more AI/AIGC capabilities into Siri as a highlight of the iPhone 16, Kuo added. Apple is competing with the likes of Samsung, which recently introduced its Gauss generative AI model, and Galaxy AI, which Samsung is expected to bring to the Galaxy S24 series next year.
AI-generated content (AIGC) has been growing in popularity in recent years, and Apple is no stranger to it. A recent report claims that Apple is working on bringing some LLM-powered Siri features next year as part of iOS 18. The company is secretly building its own AI technology, informally known as Apple GPT.
Despite being launched just over a year ago, ChatGPT has already become a huge success, taking the internet by storm. The AI chatbot is the most searched topic on Wikipedia with over 49 million page views.
