As of November 30, 2024, motor vehicle inspection facilities nationwide have inspected nearly 5.4 million vehicles, of which more than 4.5 million (84.2%) vehicles met emission safety and environmental protection standards, and more than 852 thousand vehicles failed to meet standards and had to be maintained, repaired, and adjusted for re-inspection (15.8%).
The leader of the Vietnam Register said that as of November 30, 2024, the total revenue from vehicle inspection services was 836 billion VND, and the estimated revenue for the whole year of 2024 was about 936 billion VND, reaching 114% of the financial plan.
The total road usage fee revenue of the system of motor vehicle inspection centers nationwide as of November 30, 2024 is 12,737 billion VND and it is estimated that the whole year of 2024 will collect 13,500 billion VND, reaching 118% compared to the estimate assigned by the Ministry of Transport in 2024.
Regarding human resources in the industry, in 2023, there were about 900 people prosecuted and investigated out of a total of 2,014 inspectors in the entire inspection system. Not to mention, many cases of resignation and voluntary resignation led to a serious shortage of human resources, especially experienced officers and inspectors.
This leads to a backlog of records and many vehicles that are due for inspection but have not been registered, causing economic damage and seriously affecting the lives of people and businesses.
Urgently compensating for the shortage of human resources is an important task. By the end of November 2024, 489 inspectors and 290 senior inspectors had been certified and added to the system, bringing the number of inspectors participating in the inspection system to 1,920, basically compensating for the number of inspectors as before the crisis.
