More than 300 international experts attend accreditation conference at FPT University

Ho Chi Minh City Speakers presented many real-life situations to analyze the role of the ACBSP accreditation program in educational development and its benefits to learners.

From February 22 to February 26, FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City branch, organized the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) conference. Region 10. The conference was attended by more than 300 ACBSP leaders and experts, lecturers, researchers... from the US, Europe, South Asia, Southeast Asia and many prestigious universities in Vietnam.

During the conference’s plenary sessions, experts shared the value of accreditation of schools and business programs in terms of their impact on the quality of education and training, and on relationships with business partners. Speakers also provided multi-dimensional perspectives, discussing real-life situations to clearly analyze the role and ways accreditation programs such as ACBSP contribute to educational development and benefit learners.

According to many experts at the conference, in general, participating in accreditation activities or establishing partnerships with schools and businesses all aim to create learning experiences and increase job opportunities on a global scale for learners.

In addition, 60 reports revolving around the main theme: "Be Extraordinary - Emerging Partnerships For Student Success" were also presented by international and Vietnamese speakers. Speakers and attendees discussed promoting cooperation between schools - businesses - society; raising awareness of sustainable business and responsibility for students; as well as innovating ways to use technology, taking advantage of internationalization trends to increase learning efficiency for learners.

Outstanding reports at the conference have the opportunity to win one of two awards, "The best of region" for reports by lecturers and researchers from schools in region 10 and "The best student showcase" for reports by students from schools in region 10.

Authors of winning papers will have the opportunity to present at the 2024 ACBSP Global Conference in Miami, USA. Additionally, papers that meet the publication criteria may be published by the ACBSP journal, The Transnational Journal of Business. Winning and publication criteria papers will be published after the ACBSP Region 10 Conference.

Dr. Steve Parscale, ACBSP Accreditation Director, plenary speaker at the ACBSP Region 10 Conference, said he was impressed by the growth in the number of reports, speakers, and quality of the reports this year. This demonstrates the interest of faculty, researchers, and students of Region 10 member schools in creating successful experiences and values ​​for learners.

Held for the first time at FPT University, the event contributed to affirming the role of the school and FPT Education Organization (FPT Edu) in the network of schools and business programs that are members of ACBSP, as well as the influence of scientific research, economics and business administration that FPT Edu is demonstrating and contributing to development on a regional and global scale.

The conference is also an opportunity for experts, guests, and attendees to connect with the academic community that shares a common interest in education and creating useful values ​​for students. Experiencing the life and culture of the Mekong Delta is an experiential activity on the sidelines of the conference.

ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs) is a global accrediting organization for business degree programs with 11 regions worldwide; more than 1,200 member institutions; more than 13,000 individual members from 60 countries. Region 10 represents South Asia with 16 countries and 51 member institutions.

ACBSP has just been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as an international university quality standard applied in Vietnam.

FPT University became a member of ACBSP in 2016 and achieved full ACBSP accreditation for the FPT University Hanoi Business Administration program in 2019.
