More than 1,000 Vinh Long students attend the Sports Festival

On March 28, the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long province coordinated with Cuu Long University to organize the opening ceremony of the 2025 Education and Training Sports Festival, with more than 1,000 students of all levels participating.

Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, Ms. Truong Thanh Nhuan - Director of Vinh Long Provincial Department of Education and Training and Dr. Dang Thi Ngoc Lan - Vice Principal of Cuu Long University.

Participating in this year's Sports Festival are 1,044 contestants who are primary, secondary and high school students and students at ethnic boarding schools, vocational education and continuing education centers.

The students represented 41 teams to compete in two events: men's and women's football; freestyle swimming, breaststroke, and relay swimming. The football teams participating in the congress must compete according to the current 5-a-side and 7-a-side football rules of the Vietnam Football Federation. Swimming also applies the swimming rules of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training.

The sports festival will last until April 5. Based on the competition results, the organizing committee will award first, second, third and consolation prizes to teams with excellent achievements.

According to the organizers, this sports festival is expected to help students have the opportunity to exchange and learn, creating a joyful atmosphere. It will actively contribute to maintaining and promoting the emulation movement of good teaching and good learning in training institutions. At the same time, it will build and develop the movement of physical training, improve health, and contribute to the comprehensive development of the province's youth.
