National conference to deploy tasks of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector in 2025

On the morning of December 18, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) held a national online conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025 with the theme: "Building an advanced culture imbued with national identity - The driving force for national development in the new era - The era of the Vietnamese people's rise".

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and directed the conference. Also attending were comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department. Attending the conference at the Ninh Thuan province bridge were comrade Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, sectors and localities.

In 2024, closely following the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, based on the practical situation, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector has actively and proactively implemented tasks with the annual working theme: "Dedication - Professionalism - Expertise - Modernity - Solidarity - Discipline - Accelerating to the finish line" and achieved many results. At the same time, coordinate well in advising the Politburo to issue Conclusion No. 84-KL/TW dated June 21, 2024 on continuing to implement Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the 10th Politburo on "continuing to build and develop literature and arts in the new period"; Conclusion No. 70-KL/TW dated January 31, 2024 on developing physical training and sports in the new period. Report to the Government, submit to the National Assembly for approval of the Law on Cultural Heritage; approve the investment policy for the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the period 2025-2035; give initial comments on the draft Law on Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Advertising. Submit to the Prime Minister for approval the Strategy for Physical Training and Sports Development to 2030, with a vision to 2045; the Tourism System Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2045 and the Cultural and Sports Facility Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2045...

Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended at the Ninh Thuan province bridge.

Vietnamese sports have left many positive impressions at international sports events, winning a total of 1,214 international medals; including 482 gold medals, 360 silver medals, and 372 bronze medals. Vietnam's tourism in 2024 reached 17.5 million visitors, an increase of 38.9% over the same period in 2023; domestic visitors are estimated at 110 million, an increase of 1.6% over the same period in 2023. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at about 840 trillion VND, an increase of 23.8% over the same period in 2023. Cultural and foreign affairs have many bright spots. In 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the signing of 11 international cooperation documents; including 2 international agreements on behalf of the Government, 9 international agreements on behalf of the Ministry; Many international exchange and cooperation activities and events were successfully organized, promoting the image and contributing to strengthening the country's international position...

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector. Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Prime Minister emphasized that 2025 is a year with many important events of the country, organizing party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress; the year to complete the socio-economic development goals according to the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2025, at the same time streamlining the apparatus at agencies and organizations... Therefore, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector must focus on perfecting institutions, creating resources and driving forces for development. In particular, focusing on developing culture, sports and tourism infrastructure, prioritizing connecting infrastructure, applying digital infrastructure; continuing to mobilize resources for the development of culture and tourism with focus, key points, and in the right direction; Researching specific policies and mechanisms for training human resources in the cultural sector, training professional artistic and sports personnel; building advanced examples, good practices, and good models to create movements and trends in development. At the same time, constantly innovating thinking and creativity in performing tasks, creating acceleration and breakthroughs for the sector in 2025.
