Recently, the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City, together with the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, organized an interesting program "Experience Vietnamese - Korean culture" for 29 high school students with excellent achievements and exemplary learning attitudes among about 4,000 students attending Korean classes in Ho Chi Minh City (middle schools, high schools).
The program took place for 4 days and 3 nights (May 30 - June 2). Especially with the policy of strengthening management of experiential activities of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City in March, despite many difficulties in organizing experiential activities outside of school hours, the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City has closely coordinated with the departments of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City to propose useful and safe organization plans for students.
This is the first program promoted for students, so to maximize satisfaction and effectiveness, the program has been divided into 3 main topics, including: Understanding Korean culture, Career guidance in Korean studies (Korean language), Understanding Vietnamese history and culture.
The specific program schedule includes:
Visit the Korean Cultural Center in (Hanoi) to attend unique cultural classes such as Hanji paper crafting, the Korean Room inside the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology opened in 2022 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam - Korea diplomatic relations and visit the Hanoi City Library - the first public library invested by the Korean government overseas, and experience the wide range of Korean history and culture.
Visiting the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture at the University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, students listened to the experience sharing session on choosing a major in Korean Studies as well as choosing a job after graduation from senior students. This is a meaningful time to help high school students clearly orient their study path as well as their career of high school students who have been studying Korean.
Finally, the delegation had the opportunity to visit Vietnam's traditional natural and historical heritages in places such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Temple of Literature, Bat Trang Pottery Village, Ha Long Bay... to deeply feel national pride.
Teachers and students participating in this cultural experience program shared their feelings about the program as follows:
