Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi listened to the progress report of the project to invest in upgrading the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.
The Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital Upgrade Investment Project has a total investment of nearly 789 billion VND, including the following items: construction of a new Technical Center and High-Quality Examination and Treatment block with 14 floors above ground + 1 basement, scale of 399 beds, construction area of 3,139 m2; construction of a new bridge connecting the Technical Center and High-Quality Examination and Treatment block with Block A; construction and installation equipment such as elevator system, clean air system, medical gas, RO water system, fire prevention and fighting system, backup generator, hospital operating room interior; specimen transportation system... and investment in additional medical equipment.
According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Works in Da Nang, up to now, the project has completed 94% of the construction and installation, and is continuing to complete the remaining items. The project is expected to be completed in April 2025.
Based on the actual inspection and listening to reports from relevant units, Vice President Nguyen Thi Anh Thi acknowledged and highly appreciated the effective coordination between the Project Management Board, the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and the contractor in implementing the project; at the same time, requested the Management Board to continue to monitor and urge the construction contractor to focus on human resources, construction equipment and machinery, ensuring the completion of the project before April 30, 2025 according to the set schedule.

Regarding the project of Investment in construction, renovation and addition of equipment to the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital (total investment of more than 790 billion VND), the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Management Board to direct the contractor to speed up the construction progress, complete the handover of the project in November 2025; pay attention to closely coordinate with the Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital in arranging the relocation of treatment areas, not affecting medical examination and treatment activities serving the people.
“The investment in building and upgrading the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital aims to improve quality and access to specialized techniques in medical examination and treatment for women and children, meeting the needs of the people of the city and the region. The handover process must ensure that medical equipment and infrastructure are put into operation synchronously and smoothly, maximizing the investment efficiency”, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi directed.
Inspecting the actual situation at the Investment project to upgrade and renovate Hoa Vang District General Hospital (total investment of 370 billion VND), Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Works of Da Nang, Hoa Vang District General Hospital and the contractor to speed up the construction progress of the project from the beginning of the year.

Promoting that spirit, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested relevant units to continue focusing on implementing the project to complete it in November 2025 according to the set plan, ensuring construction quality and labor safety, so that Hoa Vang District General Hospital can come into operation and become a key hospital in the Southwest of the city, meeting the needs of medical examination, treatment and high-quality medical services in the future.
