On July 2, the People's Committee of Hau Giang province had a working session with the Department of Transport and My Thuan Project Management Board on the progress of site clearance for Component 3 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project and the North - South Expressway Project, Eastern Region, Phase 2021-2025, Can Tho - Ca Mau section (Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway) passing through the province.

According to the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE), so far, the functional sector has handed over more than 98% of the project site of component 3 to the contractor. There are still 18 households that have not handed over the clean site. Of which, 11 households need to resettle 17 plots.
The medium and low voltage power lines have also been approved and paid for. Relevant units are coordinating the relocation.
For the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, there are currently only four households that have not yet handed over the cleared land, mainly concentrated in Phung Hiep district. The Provincial Land Fund Development Center has sent an official dispatch requesting the locality to enforce land recovery.
As for the remaining high-voltage power lines, it is expected that the relocation will be completed by July 15.
The Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway is over 110km long. The total investment is over VND27,500 billion, divided into two component projects including Can Tho - Hau Giang and Hau Giang - Ca Mau.
Of which, the Can Tho - Hau Giang component project is over 37km long. The total investment is over 10,370 billion VND. The Hau Giang - Ca Mau section is over 73km long. The total investment is over 17,152 billion VND.
At the meeting, the representative of the Department of Transport of Hau Giang province requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with the working unit of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ben Tre province on issues related to procedures for granting sand mining licenses in the province, to soon have a source of sand to serve the construction of component project 3.
After listening to the reports from the units, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee, assessed that the site clearance work for the two expressways was still slow.
From there, he directed the Land Fund Development Center to coordinate with Phung Hiep district to completely resolve cases of undelivered land as well as the relocation of technical infrastructure works before July 20.
Regarding the My Thuan Project Management Board, the investor of the Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway, the Vice Chairman of the Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee requested to coordinate with local departments and agencies to promptly resolve any issues arising during the site clearance and construction process that may affect residents' homes, if any.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project has a total length of more than 188km, and is assigned to the provinces of An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trang as the implementing agencies. The total investment is more than 44,691 billion VND. Of which, component project 1 through An Giang is more than 57km long; component project 2 through Can Tho is more than 37km long; component project 3 through Hau Giang is nearly 37km long; component project 4 through Soc Trang is nearly 57km long.
