NDO - Every time Tet comes, Ba Den Mountain becomes a spiritual destination that attracts a large number of visitors from all over the world. At the foot of the mountain, hundreds of thousands of people sleep overnight, waiting until early morning to go to the top to pray for peace, ready for the biggest pilgrimage season of the year at this sacred mountain.
In Gia Dinh Thanh Thong Chi - an important historical document about the South during the Nguyen Dynasty written by Trinh Hoai Duc in the early 19th century, Ba Den Mountain was described as follows: "In the middle of the plain rises Ba Dinh (Ba Den) Mountain. On a beautiful day, from Saigon, one can see this mountain faintly appearing in the clouds. Legend has it that this is a sacred mountain, with a golden bell hidden in the lake. On moonlit nights, dragon boats swim, dance and sing melodiously..."
Accordingly, Ba Den Mountain is considered a sacred mountain, the main mountain of Gia Dinh citadel (formerly Saigon), like Tan Vien Mountain in Thang Long or Ngu Binh Mountain in the ancient capital of Hue. Therefore, most ancient people believe that setting foot on the sacred Ba Den Mountain is something that should be done every year to pray for peace and luck.
Thousands of people camp and sleep at the foot of the mountain in the first days of the new year to receive sacred energy for a year of peace, prosperity and good fortune. Over the years, sleeping overnight at the foot of Ba Den Mountain during Tet has contributed to making the early spring festival extremely special, unlike any other spiritual destination.
At Ba Temple and Ba Pagoda - an ancient temple with a history of 3 centuries, thousands of people made offerings at the beginning of the year to Linh Son Thanh Mau Bo Tat (Ba Den). As a symbol of belief of the people of the South, Linh Son Thanh Mau is known for its miraculous legends, compassion and salvation of all living beings, becoming a spiritual support for the people here.

On the top of the mountain, people flock to worship the tallest Buddha statue in Asia, the largest statue of Maitreya Bodhisattva in the world and a large exhibition area - where visitors will explore the world of Buddhism and seek peace and happiness in the first days of the new year.
This year, the exhibition space of 1,200 lanterns is extremely popular with visitors. These lanterns are inspired by folklore, handmade from hand-painted paintings, Dong Ho paintings, and printed paintings, attracting many tourists to check-in.
Chhay dam drum dance, Khmer dance, and pentatonic music have become the unique art programs of Ba Mountain. These shows are held throughout the Tet holiday, performed by artists in Tay Ninh.
Lasting throughout January, the Ba Mountain Spring Festival will welcome millions of people and tourists from all over the provinces and cities to Tay Ninh. Along with the Ba Mountain Spring Festival, the Duc Chi Ton Festival also makes Tay Ninh a pilgrimage land to welcome a new year of peace and prosperity.
