Cao Bang Customs continues to advise the province on solutions to facilitate trade.

(HQ Online) - In addition to performing the political tasks of the industry, Cao Bang Customs Department needs to continue advising Cao Bang provincial leaders on solutions to facilitate trade through the area.

On March 21, a delegation of the General Department of Customs led by Deputy General Director Hoang Viet Cuong came to survey and evaluate the implementation of the Customs Law; budget collection and customs control in 2023 and the first quarter of 2024 at Cao Bang Customs Department.

According to Cao Bang Customs Department, the unit's budget collection results in the first 3 months of 2024 reached 164.4 billion VND, down 13% over the same period in 2023, reaching 27% of the Ministry of Finance's target, reaching 26% of the target assigned by the Cao Bang Provincial People's Council.

Import and export activities through Cao Bang province are unstable and only take place at 3 border gates: Ta Lung, Tra Linh, Soc Giang. Other border gates are not yet in operation due to the implementation of regulations on opening and upgrading border gates.

Regarding anti-smuggling work, the Department has presided over, coordinated, and handled 33 violations, with a total value of infringing goods of over 620 million VND.

In addition, the Department has issued a plan to collect and process risk management information; a key risk control plan, assigned specific tasks to affiliated and subordinate units, and distributed a list of enterprises requiring information collection to each unit for implementation.

Along with that, Cao Bang Customs always strictly follows the content of the Customs Law to develop annual work programs and plans.

At the meeting, Cao Bang Customs Department proposed: It is necessary to decentralize the approval of the plan to handle confiscated goods to the Department and Branch level according to the value of confiscated violating goods.

Propose that the General Department of Customs propose to the Ministry of Public Security to decentralize or authorize the training, issuance of certificates for the use of weapons, and issuance and renewal of gun licenses to the Provincial Police to facilitate implementation by local customs departments; have separate regulations on the conditions for civil servants to perform customs control work; consider establishing a Team level for the Customs Control Team (Cao Bang Customs Department).

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of Cao Bang Customs Department.

The Deputy Director General directed the unit to continue to be proactive in studying the Customs Development Strategy to 2030, thereby proposing implementation solutions suitable to the actual situation of the unit. In particular, it is necessary to focus on proactively preparing conditions to implement Digital Customs and Smart Customs.

At the same time, it is necessary to review border gates, develop plans, and clearly define routes for transporting import and export goods.

Along with that, Cao Bang Customs needs to advise the province on solutions to create favorable conditions and an open environment for the business community in import-export activities in the area.

Regarding budget collection, it is necessary to proactively study and evaluate the import-export turnover situation, have plans to prevent revenue loss, strive to complete and exceed assigned targets; closely coordinate with units to strengthen anti-smuggling and risk management...

At the meeting, Deputy General Director Hoang Viet Cuong answered the unit's proposals and recommendations.
