Long Thanh airport terminal and Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal with a total investment of more than 45,000 billion VND will start construction on August 31.
The information was announced by a representative of the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) - the investor, on August 23. Of which, Long Thanh airport terminal has a total investment of 35,000 billion VND. The project is built on a 150-hectare land area, designed with two separate departure and arrival lanes, including a ground floor and 3 floors, a roof height of nearly 46 m, and 40 aircraft parking positions.
The station is expected to be completed and operational in 2026. The winning bidder has not yet been announced, but so far only one consortium has passed the technical bidding round.

The 35,000 billion VND terminal is considered the "heart" of Long Thanh airport with the lotus image used throughout the design process such as: roof, main view, interior of the check-in area... The architectural highlight is the skylight and the central atrium of the terminal - where the artificial waterfall and garden landscape are arranged.
According to ACV, the project is designed and constructed using the most modern technology in the aviation field with highly durable and aesthetically pleasing materials.
Along with the terminal, the runway project is 4,000 m long, 45 m wide with a system of 2 parallel taxiways; 6 quick exit taxiways with connecting taxiways... and a number of other auxiliary works were also started on this occasion.
Long Thanh Airport has a capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year. The total investment capital of the project is about 336,630 billion VND (about 16 billion USD). Of which, the first phase invests 114,450 billion VND (equivalent to 5.45 billion USD).

On August 31, the T3 terminal at Tan Son Nhat airport, including the passenger terminal, high-rise parking garage combined with non-aviation services and the front overpass system, was also started. The project has a total investment of VND10,990 billion, expected to be constructed in 20 months, and put into operation from the second quarter of 2025.
The passenger terminal consists of one basement and four upper floors, with a total floor area of 112,500 m2. The terminal has 90 check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage check-in counters, 42 check-in kiosks, 27 aircraft gates (13 telescopic gates and 14 bus gates), 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, and 25 passenger security control gates.
Upon completion, Terminal T3 will serve domestic flights with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year, and will be able to handle all code C and code E aircraft (wide-body aircraft).
