More transformer stations for load sharing
Hai Duong Electricity One Member Co., Ltd. (Hai Duong Electricity) has just started construction of the 110 kV Nam Sach 2 transformer station in An Phat Industrial Park with a total investment of 118.2 billion VND. The project scale includes 4 transformers with a total capacity of 252 MVA and a 110 kV line with a length of 4.5 km double circuit, auxiliary works ensuring the criteria of an unmanned transformer station.
To effectively exploit this transformer station, Hai Duong Power Company is implementing the construction of additional transmission lines after the 110 kV station with a total investment of 16.8 billion VND. This project is expected to be completed and put into use in the first quarter of 2025.
When completed, this project will ensure power supply for businesses in An Phat 1 industrial park, Nam Sach district loads and neighboring areas, helping to prevent overloading of 110 kV Nam Sach, Tien Trung, Chi Linh transformer stations...
Phuc Tan 3 transformer station in Phuc Tan village, Gia Tan commune (Gia Loc) has just been completed, energized and put into use. This transformer station has a capacity of 320 kVA, supplying electricity to 226 customers. The station is put into use to help share the load between Phuc Tan and Phuc Tan 2 transformer stations.
Along with Phuc Tan 3 transformer station, Gia Tan commune has also just had Lang Xuyen transformer station with a capacity of 250 kVA energized and put into use. “Before, the commune had 6 transformer stations, but the power supply radius was too long, the voltage was unstable. Moreover, the commune's aquaculture area is far away, the voltage is weak and not enough to meet the needs of customers. Investing in 2 new transformer stations with a total capacity of 570 kVA helps improve the quality of electricity in this commune,” said Mr. Pham Thanh Binh, Gia Loc Power Company operator.
In 2024, Gia Loc Power Company will carry out 2 investment and repair projects. These are the construction of medium voltage lines and distribution transformer stations with 5 overload-proof transformer stations in Hoang Dieu, Toan Thang, Gia Tan, and Yet Kieu communes with a total investment of more than 5.5 billion VND. The unit will also replace the location of electric poles and twisted cables, with a total investment of more than 1.2 billion VND.
These projects, when completed and put into use, contribute to reducing loss rates, improving quality, and ensuring power supply for areas with increased load.
Grid Improvement
Hai Duong City currently has an average annual load growth rate of over 10%, so investment in construction and renovation of the power grid is essential to improve the quality of power supply. Hai Duong City Electricity is accelerating the implementation of the 0.4 kV line renovation project after Dien Bien Phu 1 transformer station in Tan Binh ward. The project to renovate 149 m of overhead low-voltage lines and 134 m of underground low-voltage cables connecting Dien Bien Phu 1 transformer station and Kios 28 transformer station in the West to reduce the load on Dien Bien Phu 1 transformer station is also being implemented.
By the end of October, the unit had completed major and regular repair projects, energized 11 transformer stations, renovated 13 km of medium and low voltage lines, and built 2 medium voltage loops with a total investment value of more than 26 billion VND.
"Although the power grid system was severely affected by storm No. 3, up to now, Hai Duong City Electricity has completely overcome the damage caused by the storm, while also fulfilling production and business targets, speeding up the construction progress of projects, thereby meeting enough electricity demand for customers in the city," said Deputy Director of Hai Duong City Electricity Nguyen Xuan Thanh.
Hai Duong Electricity is also implementing investment steps for 7 110 kV power grid projects; 36 medium and low voltage grid projects (including 21 medium voltage grid projects, 12 overload prevention projects and 3 low voltage projects). At the same time, it is preparing to invest in 8 medium and low voltage grid projects to start construction in 2025.
To complete the projects soon, Hai Duong Electricity directed units to focus on handling issues related to compensation and site clearance, speeding up the implementation progress of projects starting this year, ensuring power supply according to plan; preparing investment procedures for the remaining projects starting in the 2024 plan and temporarily handing over in 2025...
Storm No. 3 caused severe damage to the power grid system in the province. The storm caused power outages at 22 110kV transformer stations, 17 transformer stations were damaged, 10 transformers had to be replaced; 42 110kV lines, 147 medium voltage lines, 910 meter boxes were damaged. Immediately after the storm, Hai Duong Electricity focused on fixing the problems.
Up to now, the unit has temporarily handled broken and fallen medium voltage poles to supply electricity; over 80% of broken and tilted poles have been repaired... The estimated cost of repairing storm damage for Hai Duong Power Company is more than 70 billion VND.
