According to Decision No. 3577/QD-UBND dated July 9, 2024 of the Hanoi People's Committee, Hanoi decided to allocate 18 billion VND from the city budget to carry out the task of cooperation and association with other provinces in 2024 assigned in Decision No. 6336/QD-UBND dated December 12, 2023 of the Hanoi People's Committee to support Quang Tri province. Of which, 3 billion VND is for social security, hunger eradication and poverty reduction; 15 billion VND to build gratitude houses for families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions.
At the program, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong presented symbolic plaques to 150 gratitude houses with a total value of 15 billion VND.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen presented a symbolic plaque to Quang Tri province to donate 3 billion VND to carry out social security and poverty reduction tasks.
On this occasion, Director of the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Bach Lien Huong also presented the logo and gifts to meritorious people and children in special circumstances in Quang Tri province with a total value of 570 million VND. Of which, 70 gifts were for meritorious people (each gift worth 6 million VND). The remaining 100 gifts were for children in difficult circumstances and special circumstances in Quang Tri province, each worth 1.5 million VND (including 100 million VND in gifts sponsored by T&T Group, through the Hanoi Center for Social Work and Children's Protection Fund, 50 million VND from the budget).
Immediately afterwards, the delegates participated in the working and cooperation program between Hanoi City and Quang Tri Province, agreeing to focus on implementing a number of tasks and solutions in the coming time, including continuing to implement the signed contents according to the Minutes of Cooperation Agreement between the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee dated June 14, 2019 and Plan No. 134/KH-UBND dated June 5, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the cooperation agreement between Quang Tri Province and Hanoi City.
Speaking at the program, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong thanked Quang Tri province for always accompanying the development process of the capital over the past time. At the same time, he expressed his joy at the achievements of Quang Tri province, assessing that this is a locality with many conditions, potentials and opportunities to break through and develop in many fields.
Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong suggested that Quang Tri province continue to strengthen cooperation with the capital, especially in the field of trade, contributing to exploiting and effectively serving the market of more than 10 million people of Hanoi. In particular, Hanoi is having many activities and programs with practical significance to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital. Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong suggested that the leaders of Quang Tri province create conditions for businesses in the province to participate with Hanoi in cultural, sports , tourism, promotion and trade development events...
Regarding promoting cooperation in the coming time, the Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee affirmed that Hanoi will continue to support Quang Tri province in developing trade, industry, and services; training teachers and high-performance athletes; supporting communication development, tourism promotion, etc.
According to Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, as a locality highly appreciated by the Central Government for its decentralization and delegation of power, Hanoi is ready to share lessons and experiences with Quang Tri province in the work of Party building and the political system. Along with that, in the coming time, Hanoi will continue to pay attention to supporting Quang Tri to complete projects that have been agreed upon by the city, typically the project to renovate and upgrade the Hanoi Martyrs' Cemetery at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery.
Towards the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), on this occasion, the Hanoi City Delegation came to offer incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Relic.
This is a special national relic located in the center of Quang Tri town, about 2km from National Highway 1A and right on the bank of Thach Han River. Quang Tri Citadel relic is a place that witnessed the indomitable heroism and great sacrifice of the liberation army soldiers and Quang Tri people in the fight against the counterattacks to retake the Citadel of the US - puppet regime during 81 days and nights in 1972.
Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong and the Hanoi delegation expressed their deep gratitude for the sacrifices of soldiers and compatriots for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation; vowed to strive to build and develop the capital to become more cultured, civilized, and modern, and to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
Next, the Hanoi delegation performed a flower-releasing ceremony on the Thach Han River at the river wharf right in front of Quang Tri Citadel, sending words of gratitude and commemoration to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
