Handing over the Chairmanship of Nhon Trach District People's Committee to Mr. Nguyen The Phong

On June 27, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province announced the decision on personnel work in Nhon Trach district. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen The Phong was assigned the task of acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district.

According to the decision of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, Mr. Nguyen The Phong, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district, was assigned the task of acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district for the 2021-2026 term until the competent authority completes the position of Chairman of the District People's Committee.

At the ceremony, the acting Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Vo Tan Duc, asked Mr. Nguyen The Phong to start work immediately to fulfill his assigned tasks. At the same time, the leaders of Dong Nai province also asked the leaders of districts, departments, offices, communes and towns to create all conditions for Mr. Nguyen The Phong to fulfill his tasks well.

Previously, on June 12, the Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee issued Decision No. 1684-QD/TU to discipline Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach District by removing her from the position of Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee found that Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong was dishonest in declaring her assets and income through asset and income declarations; was evasive, evasive, and concealed the origin of the undeclared money; and did not provide the Asset and Income Verification Team with documents related to the ownership of the assets declared in the asset and income declaration as prescribed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong did things that are not prohibited by law but negatively affected the reputation of the Party organization, the locality, the pioneering and exemplary role and the responsibility to set an example of a Party member.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong's violations are serious, creating bad public opinion in society, cadres, party members and people; reducing the prestige of herself, Nhon Trach District Party Committee, and Nhon Trach District People's Committee.

Then, on June 19, 2024, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province issued Decision No. 1848/QD-UBND on removing Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong from the position of Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district for the 2021-2026 term.

Deputy Director of Dong Nai Provincial Police Nguyen Manh Toan spoke at the Workshop on improving the effectiveness of ensuring security and safety of the banking system in the area on May 15.

Regarding the case of Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong, who was said to have been scammed of more than 171 billion VND and reported it to the police and received attention from the whole country, on April 9, at the 15th Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Conference, the leader of Dong Nai Provincial Police said that in the case of the loss of more than 171 billion VND in Nhon Trach district, the criminals used very old tricks but the people involved were not vigilant and updated.

At the workshop on improving the effectiveness of ensuring security and safety of the banking system in the area organized by Dong Nai Provincial Police on May 15, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Provincial Police Nguyen Manh Toan said that in the case of using high technology to defraud and appropriate more than 171 billion VND in Nhon Trach district, the appropriated money was transferred by criminals to many bank accounts.

The case is currently being investigated and clarified by Dong Nai Provincial Police in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security.
