Thematic monitoring of "Implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection" at Nam Cam Industrial Park

The thematic supervision delegation of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation had a working session and conducted a field survey at Nam Cam Industrial Park on "Implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection since the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 took effect in Nghe An province". Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation chaired.

Nam Cam Industrial Park has an area of over 370 hectares and is planned into 3 sub-areas invested by Nghe An Infrastructure Development Construction Investment Company Limited. Currently, the industrial park has 44 operating enterprises.

According to the report of Nghe An Infrastructure Development Construction Investment Company Limited, Nam Cam Industrial Park has built a separate rainwater collection and drainage system from the centralized wastewater collection, drainage and treatment system; coordinated with state management agencies to organize inspections and examinations of environmental protection for secondary investors in the industrial park; promulgated regulations on environmental protection of the industrial park; conducted periodic environmental monitoring in the industrial park, prepared periodic environmental protection reports and sent them to specialized agencies on environmental protection.

However, because the infrastructure of Nam Cam Industrial Park has not been fully and synchronously invested; the activities of providing services in the industrial park for investors have not been concentrated in one place, the company has encountered many difficulties in the management and operation of the industrial park, especially activities related to environmental sanitation such as: wastewater treatment, waste collection and treatment... The value of the infrastructure assets of the industrial park has not been handed over to the company for business, so there is no source of revenue to invest in completing the infrastructure system. Zone B, Nam Cam Industrial Park has not yet had an environmental impact assessment (EIA) report according to the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection, because the overall infrastructure construction investment project has not been approved...

Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province delivered a concluding speech at the working session.

After listening to representatives of relevant units explain and clarify some contents requested by delegates, comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation requested the Industrial Park Management Board to guide, urge and remind production and business enterprises in the industrial park to connect to the centralized wastewater treatment system, ensuring that waste is treated to meet technical standards before being discharged into the environment; Strengthen management and supervision of waste collection, transportation and treatment... At the same time, complete the report and provide full data requested by the delegation.

Regarding the recommendations and proposals of Nghe An Infrastructure Development Construction Investment Company Limited and enterprises in Nam Cam Industrial Park, the delegation will synthesize and work with the Provincial People's Committee and related Departments to find solutions to effectively implement environmental protection work in industrial parks.

Earlier this morning, the delegation surveyed and worked with a number of units and localities in Dien Chau and Nghi Loc districts.
