Paddy price increased by 200 VND/kg, rice price decreased slightly

​​​​​Today, July 2, rice prices in the Mekong Delta fluctuated in opposite directions, with rice prices decreasing and paddy prices increasing. Rice prices decreased by 50 VND/kg, paddy prices increased by 200 VND/kg. Rice market transactions were slow, prices decreased slightly.

The rice market in the Mekong Delta today is generally slow in supply, slow in transaction, and poor in quality. Specifically, in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice is slow in supply, poor in quality, warehouses give low prices, and few buyers. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), rice is low in supply, prices are stable, and there is little good rice. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), prices have decreased slightly, transactions are slow, rice quality is poor, and warehouses give low prices.

According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice price has been adjusted compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of IR 504 raw rice is at 10,700 - 10,800 VND/kg, down 50 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice remains at 12,600 - 12,800 VND/kg.

Similarly, there is no adjustment for by-products today compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 sheet is unchanged compared to yesterday at 9,100 - 9,300 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry bran remains stable at 7,000 - 7,100 VND/kg.

Rice price today, July 2: Paddy price increased by 200 VND/kg, rice price decreased slightly

At retail markets, rice prices have not been adjusted. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND30,000/kg; Jasmine rice is VND18,000 - 20,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice is VND20,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates around VND15,000 - 16,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice is VND20,000 - 21,000/kg; Jasmine rice is VND20,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is VND21,000/kg; common white rice is VND17,000/kg; regular Soc rice is VND18,500/kg; Thai Soc rice is VND20,000/kg; Japanese rice is VND22,000/kg.

Regarding rice, in An Giang, the demand for buying is quite high, rice prices fluctuate little. In Long An, rice is ready to be harvested in the next 5-10 days, transactions are slow, and demand is slow. In An Giang, rice prices have decreased, rice quality is poor, and many traders have abandoned their deposits. In Hau Giang, rice is ripe in the fields, and transactions are stable.

Specifically, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the rice varieties today are not adjusted. Of which, IR 50404 rice prices fluctuate around 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice prices are 7,200 - 7,400 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice prices are stable at 7,000 - 7,100 VND/kg; OM 18 rice prices are 7,300 - 7,400 VND/kg; OM 380 prices range from 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg. Japanese rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 prices are 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg and Nang Nhen rice (dry) is at 20,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the sticky rice market recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. The price of 3-month sticky rice (dry) remained unchanged compared to the price of 8,800 VND/kg to 9,000 VND/kg. In addition, 9,000 - 9,200 VND/kg is the selling price applied to Long An sticky rice (dry). On the other hand, 3-month sticky rice (fresh) and Long An sticky rice (fresh) continued to be stable today.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices have not been adjusted. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice is stable at 468 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is currently at 569 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is stable at 544 USD/ton.
