According to forecasts, world coffee prices tomorrow, December 1, 2024, will continue to decrease on all exchanges. The reason is that experts believe that the market has reversed due to the weakening of the Brazilian Real and its fall to a record low against the USD. The weaker Real has encouraged Brazilian coffee producers to increase exports, leading to a sell-off in coffee futures contracts.
The 2024-25 coffee crop, of which about 85% is robusta and the rest arabica, is conservatively forecast to average 10 million bags.
Certified washed arabica coffee inventories on the New York Mercantile Exchange continued to rise to their highest level since June 2022, reaching 903,548 bags as of November 28. This marked an increase of 207.8% (610,002 bags) compared to the 293,546 bags recorded at the same time last year.

The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 130,700 VND/kg.
Coffee prices today (November 20) in Dak Lak province; in Cu M'gar district, coffee is purchased at 131,000 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at 129,900 VND/kg.
According to forecasts, domestic coffee prices on December 1, 2024 will reverse and decrease after many consecutive increases, the expected decrease will be from 900 to 1,000 VND/kg.
If last year's coffee market prices were easily seen to be led by Robusta when the countries producing this commodity suffered crop failures due to drought and weather problems under the influence of the El Nino phenomenon, then this year, at the beginning of the Vietnamese crop season, we can witness the leadership of Arabica coffee, when this type of coffee reached its highest level in the past 47 years.
The problem is still being blamed on adverse weather in Brazil and Vietnam, the world’s two largest coffee growers, whose effects are now starting to be felt, threatening global coffee production. According to Sucden Financial, the price increase has also forced some Brazilian coffee exporters to remove their hedges and buy futures to cover their short positions, further pushing coffee prices higher.
