Yen Bai - In recent years, Yen Bai has become a bright spot on the tourism map of Vietnam. In addition to eco-tourism and adventure tourism, spiritual tourism is also becoming a development trend in the province, attracting the attention of many domestic and foreign tourists. This development not only contributes to honoring spiritual values but also preserving the cultural and historical values of ethnic minorities.

The province currently has many scenic spots and historical relics with strong spiritual elements. Notably, Dong Cuong Temple, Van Yen District - one of the sacred Mother Goddess temples in the Northern region. This is not only a place associated with the spiritual life of the people in the province but also attracts thousands of tourists from all over the country to visit and worship.
Along with Dong Cuong temple, the province is also famous for its spiritual cultural relics such as: Tung Lam pagoda (Ngoc Am), Thac Ba Mau temple, Van Thang communal house, temple complex, pagoda... These are places associated with legends and long-standing cultural history. These places bring not only spiritual values but also eye-catching with beautiful landscapes. Currently, spiritual tourism is not simply a worshiping and adoring activity but also a bridge to help tourists learn more about the customs, traditions and cultural life of ethnic minorities. Therefore, festivals such as: Xen Muong festival of Thai Muong Lo people, Then ceremony of Tay people, Gau Tao festival of Mong people... are increasingly organized by localities regularly, helping tourists have interesting experiences about beliefs and culture through practicing rituals.
To link spiritual tourism with cultural and historical preservation, in recent years, the province has implemented many specific and practical activities such as: restoring and preserving traditional rituals and customs of ethnic minorities; implementing the construction of Tung Lam, Minh Phap, Linh Long pagodas... into "Cultural Landscape Pagodas"; building and developing spiritual tourism tours and routes along the Red River with destinations such as Tuan Quan Temple, Bach Lam Temple and Pagoda, Tung Lam Pagoda, Dong Cuong Temple, Nhuoc Son Temple; building cultural tourism programs combined with spiritual experiences in some localities... These programs have brought profound experiences to visitors, while creating opportunities to promote and protect traditional cultural values of the nation.
For example, when visiting Dong Cuong Temple, visitors not only participate in worship rituals but also have the opportunity to learn about the cuisine, beliefs, culture, and traditional handicrafts of the local people. This is the way to turn spiritual tourism into a bridge between the past and the present, helping to preserve and develop national culture.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang - a tourist from Hanoi expressed: "Participating in the spiritual tour in Yen Bai has helped me gain more understanding about the culture and history of the lands and ethnic people. At the same time, seeing many beautiful scenes has helped me gain more positive energy, feeling peaceful, relaxed, and loving life more!".
Despite its great potential, the development of spiritual tourism in the province is currently facing many challenges such as: the increase in the number of tourists can put pressure on relics, and erode traditional values if there are no appropriate protection measures; unreasonable tourism planning can also lead to excessive commercialization, losing the sacredness of spiritual sites...
To overcome these challenges, the province has been implementing many synchronous solutions such as: building a sustainable development plan, prioritizing the preservation of cultural and historical values; improving the quality and effectiveness of training a team of professional tour guides with a deep understanding of local history and culture to convey meaningful messages to tourists; paying attention to investing in tourism infrastructure such as transportation systems, accommodation services and support facilities to enhance the experience of tourists without affecting the environment and landscape; implementing propaganda campaigns to raise public awareness about the role of spiritual tourism in preserving culture...
With the right steps, we believe that spiritual tourism will increasingly develop in the province, contributing to promoting economic and social development, preserving and promoting cultural and historical values, and soon making Yen Bai a leading tourist destination in the Northwest region.
