Nearly 100 models wear Ha Dong silk ao dai to promote Vietnamese culture

(Dan Tri) - The event "Ha Dong Silk Ao Dai Show" within the Van Phuc Craft Village Culture, Tourism and Trade Week in 2024 will have the participation of many professional and amateur models.


On the afternoon of November 22, the People's Committee of Van Phuc Ward (Ha Dong, Hanoi) held an information conference on the organization of the Van Phuc Craft Village Culture, Tourism and Trade Week in 2024 (Cultural Week).

Mr. Nguyen Van Du - Chairman of Van Phuc Ward People's Committee - said that the Cultural Week is an activity to encourage people of all walks of life to promote heroic traditions, successfully implement the socio-economic development plan, targets and tasks for 2024, and at the same time compete to achieve practical achievements to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Ha Dong's founding (December 6, 1904 - December 6, 2024), the 70th anniversary of Ha Dong's liberation (October 6, 1954 - October 6, 2024) and major anniversaries of the year.

"The Organizing Committee has completed the preparations according to the plan on urban beautification, propaganda, advertising, trade promotion, financial logistics... to ensure that the Cultural Week takes place as planned, ensuring efficiency, practicality, safety and economy," said the Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Phuc Ward.

The Cultural Week is organized into 3 parts, including a ceremony with the theme Connecting Heritage - Monuments , with a procession honoring the founder of Van Phuc silk village, organizing a spiritual and cultural procession of the craft village, dragon dance, lion dance, and palanquin procession.

The festival with the opening ceremony and cultural activities, arts, and folk games will take place throughout the week at different locations throughout the ward to attract tourists to the craft village.

Music program with performances by professional singers and actors.

The highlight is the Ha Dong Silk Ao Dai Show taking place on the morning of December 3. The event will introduce viewers to the main stages of the traditional Van Phuc silk weaving craft and the latest designs of the craft village.

"The program will have the participation of nearly 100 professional and amateur models, including child models, to introduce the latest Ao Dai designs, to promote to tourists the cultural beauty of the Vietnamese people," said a representative of the Cultural Week Organizing Committee.

The new point of this year's Cultural Week is that the organizers will pilot a free electric car, taking visitors to experience and visit historical sites in the ward such as the food street, rural market, commercial area, silk street... connecting visitors to shop and experience.

Ms. Vu Thi Minh Thu - Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of Ha Dong District Party Committee - said that the Cultural Week is held annually to promote the image of traditional silk weaving, enhance tourism promotion activities, and introduce local cultural activities to tourists.

Cultural Week will take place from November 30 to December 6 in Van Phuc ward.

Van Phuc is one of the most famous craft villages in our country. This village produces silk products of artistic, technical and economic value.

The silk weaving profession in Van Phuc is recognized by the Vietnam Record Book Center as the oldest silk weaving village still in operation today.
