EVNGENCO3 accompanies to overcome difficulties, strives to ensure electricity production

The electricity output of the entire Corporation in 2023 is 29.566 billion kWh, reaching 91.73% of the plan approved by the General Meeting of Shareholders due to the reduction in load demand of the power system and priority given to mobilizing renewable energy sources. EVNGENCO3's factories are basically operating stably, ensuring the system's operating method.

EVNGENCO3 has performed well and achieved 12/13 economic and technical targets according to the plan thanks to the synchronous implementation of many solutions to reduce the heat loss rate of coal-fired thermal power, reduce the rate of self-consumption of coal-fired thermal power and hydropower, improve the response factor of coal-fired thermal power... Repair and maintenance work has been completed safely, with quality and on schedule, contributing to ensuring electricity production. The Corporation has successfully carried out 8 major repair projects for 21 customers inside and outside EVN.

In construction investment, based on the Power Plan VIII, the Corporation has focused on investing in green energy: seeking opportunities for cooperation in liquefied natural gas - LNG for the operation of gas turbine power plants; signing a cooperation agreement on offshore wind power development; converting biomass fuel and increasing the life span and environmental friendliness of power plants. Completing the upgrade and announcing the capacity of the coal port to 50,000DWT and the oil port to 3,000DWT at Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant.

The Corporation's power plants always ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the law on environmental protection. The rate of ash and slag consumption generated by coal-fired thermal power plants (NMNĐ) in 2023 continues to reach a high level. Mong Duong 1 NMNĐ maintains a rate of 100%, Vinh Tan 2 NMNĐ reaches a rate of 94.3%, and has started construction of the ash and slag separation line currently stored at the slag yard of Vinh Tan 2 NMNĐ with a capacity of 500,000 ^m3 /year.

In 2023, EVNGENCO3 completed the payment of the remaining dividend in 2022 at a rate of 14.5%, equivalent to approximately VND 1,629 billion; at the same time, carried out procedures to return the Development Investment Fund to pay dividends and advance dividends in 2023 (from remaining profits and profits in 2023) at a rate of 9.26%, equivalent to VND 1,040 billion. The parent company's contribution to the State budget in 2023 is estimated at VND 1,813 billion. Power Generation Corporation 3 is one of 138 enterprises commended for their positive contributions to the State budget revenue in the period of 2020 - 2022 at the Conference organized by the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Taxation on October 20, 2023.

Regarding social responsibility, in addition to annual social security activities, EVNGENCO3 continues to sponsor scholarships, take care of 47 orphaned students and students in difficult circumstances due to Covid-19; support funding for building and repairing classrooms for 7 schools, support funding for building and handing over 15 charity houses... The total social security budget in 2023 is more than 12 billion VND.

Speaking at the Conference to review the work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024 of EVNGENCO3, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group acknowledged the effective contributions of Power Generation Corporation 3 in ensuring electricity supply in 2023, and highly appreciated the efforts and solutions to complete the assigned goals and tasks.

Faced with the forecast of many difficulties in 2024, the General Director of EVN suggested that the Corporation should prioritize all resources to ensure electricity supply, continue to implement cost-saving measures in production and construction investment, reduce fuel consumption, reduce self-consumption of electricity, and reduce major repair costs of factories.

Receiving the direction, Mr. Dinh Quoc Lam - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Power Generation Corporation 3 affirmed that EVNGENCO3 will continue to strive to maintain electricity production, optimize costs, corporate value, shareholder benefits, ensure workers' lives, promote the implementation of digital transformation solutions and application of science and technology to complete the 2024 plan targets.
